Schools have right to issue testimonials and statements of results of external examination bodies conducted in the schools. What the external examination bodies issue are certificates. I gained admission into the university with my statement of result, which I used for ten year after which I got my certificate.

Certificate saga: Only Buhari can request for result verification – WAECThe West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has said that General Muhammadu Buhari can apply to the examination body for the verification of his results. It said such verification can only be forwarded to the institution specified by the candidate.

WAEC Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Lagos, Mr. Yusuf Ari in a telephone conversation with Vanguard Wednesday said, “No individual has the legal right to approach WAEC for the verification of another person’s result except the owner of the result.”

He explained that the constitutional right vested on the Freedom of Information law does not include invasion of privacy adding, “The certificate in question belongs to Muhammadu Buhari and he alone has the right to apply for verification.“Be that as it may, WAEC cannot take any action except, the owner of the certificate asked us to do so. We are an independent body, therefore, we cannot be partisan on this issue,” he said.

According to Ari, all the former Head of State needs to do is to apply by giving WAEC the name of his school, Examination number and year of the examination and the result will be verified.

However, after verification of the results, it will be forwarded to the institution and not the owner of the results.

The secondary school would generally have the computer print out or such similar records of the results for the school and they are mandated to give statement of result.
waec only said verification of the result can only be done through aplication by the candidate and i suppose by the school also and since its the school that provided the result, its case closed.

The result was printed on the 21st, hence the date on it. , it was printed in katsina state on the 21st of Jan 2015, hence the date and katsina being the state. Did you see the main print out that had the names if other candidates including shehu musa yar'adua? If you did, the result from there was simply transcribed into the new school result sheet(just like what would be done if it was a letter headed paper).
Do you really think that such an obvious "forgery" will be made at this stage and FG will let it go?
