Can i please suggest we focus on the suggested treatment options for now.

That's actually the most important decision we have to make so that all energy can be focused directly towards a common channel

We all need to work together to achieve our goal as it's in the best interest of DJ

This is a direct plea to all concerned

@TeHN......I'm asking yet again....what is the EXPECTED outcome of this 18 week full treatment?...is it that he would be pain free for the duration?...is it he would be cancer free?....is it the cancer would be beaten back to stage 1? Only you guys can answer this so can you do so before you fade into the background?

Instead of going round in circles, this is what ought to be considered if you guys endorse treatment option 1.

He is expected to have 6 chemo cycles within a span of 18 weeks.

The chemo cycle is once every other 3 weeks

6 new people can volunteer to accompany him then share the scheduling among themselves (1 volunteer for each chemo cycle).

The volunteers will have the responsibility to update on proceedings at the end of each chemo cycle

Thanks for reaching to your big heart..... will talk to you soon.

We have repeatedly told you we are not his doctors. We have painstakingly relayed every single bit of information we hold but yet you keep asking us expected outcome when the patient has been diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer

Do you want us to cook up things for you because i'm struggling to understand your continuous hammering about this same issue.

We are not experts on predictive outcomes of medical cases and our expertise lays elsewhere!

BTW: Nothing stops you from calling the doctors at LCC to confirm if we've been econominical with information shared and ask any other specific questions you may have!

No one can give their words on how the chemo will go.
A stage 4 cancer is not something anybody can boldly say chemotherapy will do this or that.

However, the alternative treatments you mentioned (which btw, I am absolutely not in support of) would have to be agreed upon by the house. TeHN, as you can see, are no longer calling the shots! If you have to go that route, lay it bare and let the house decide if that is what they want. Don't put this on TeHN, that is what they're totally trying to avoid.

Except that I don't think we need a new thread to seek for volunteers. Volunteers should come from stakeholders on this thread.

Okay, I get you. I only explored that option because I think the larger the audience, the greater the chances of getting more volunteers. But if this thread is enough, then let's carry on with it.

I think in regards to options and treatment, I feel TeHN should carry on with LLC option immediately along with option A (DJ's brother). Stage 4 cancer is very serious. The house hasn't come to general consensus on what course of action to take and time is ticking away. If the NY appraisal suggest we move on with Chemo, then since they're professionals and the funds to cover the expenses are ready, let's move on with it. Delay is dangerous. We can't keep talking while DJ is hapless.

For now, till option B (new team) is possible, option A is our only choice. The truth is, no matter if a new team will be assembled or not, no matter the number of volunteers we'll get, DJ's brother/family is/are our number one DEFAULT VOLUNTEER(S). He's been there all through before TeHN's volunteers took a step back. He'll always be at DJ's side no matter the number of volunteers. So if you ask me, whether option A or B, DJ's brother is the common factor. He knows the extent you guys have gone, knows the hospitals locations. The doctors know him too. He can do this. He can be in charge till the volunteers or new team arrives. If TeHN or we, weren't around but they (DJ's family) have the funds, will they fold their hands and watch him die? The answer is no!! So DJ's brother can do this till others can join him.

I think 50-60% of this job has been done. All he needs to do is get DJ into a private cab on the days he's needed, take him to hospital, stay with him for the day (or probably two days) of the treatment, get information from the doctors (probably written down by them in order not to misquote them), take him back to the house where DJ will be in the care of his family till the next trip, then come online and update us with the happenings and attend to our questions. DJ's brother can do this, he has no choice for now. We're limited for now. I'm sure others will willingly help as time goes on. I believe before the end of the 18 weeks, by the grace of God, DJ will even be more stronger to update us or go on his own. Typing without any definitive action is bad. While we wait on the volunteers, let his brother get him to LCC fast. Thank God he won't be staying in the hospital more than 2 days. So the care on DJ can come from his family watching over him constantly.

Lest I forget, DJ's brother must create his own handle and never use DJ's handle to update us. So that the issue Emmysexy raised about DJ not being the one that is commenting with his handle can be reduced. It's not a foolproof plan but it can help sha. So we can be able to ascertain updates by DJ or his brother. Also, if we can get more than 6 volunteers, it'll be better. We never can tell if unforseen circumstances can make a volunteer not to be chanced on the day he or she is needed.

This is my opinion, I hope one or two things from it can help.

Hi All,

In the spirit of openness and sharing absolutely all we know, we just received feedback this morning from a consultant with the BMI Healthcare UK that was contacted late last week (Friday). Only the consultant’s name has been redacted and the message is as received.

“The patient has incurable cancer. Whether chemotherapy is worthwhile is unpredictable.

Generally if the patient is poorly and is not well enough to work, get out of the house each day, (performance status of 3 or worse), chemotherapy is likely to do more harm than good.

If his performance status was good, then I would want to know whether more detail could be obtained from the cytology of the cells in the ascites, or obtain a core biopsy from a deposit if a deposit is identifiable on CT. however

if the performance status is as poor as it sounds he is unlikely to benefit from chemo and it will likely cause more rapid decline.

Regards

In light of this new dimension, we plead that we all put our heads together to work out and endorse the best treatment option for DJ. We’ve shared every single information that we hold and this is the time to drop all differences and focus on the mighty job at hand.

We have shared the various risks that we believe are attached to each treatment option. At this point, we ourselves simply don’t know the best option and we implore that all options with their practicalities are considered at this point.

We don’t have luxury of time as DJ is still very heal so we really need to act very fast with whatever we decide.

TeHN as promised will continue to provide all the mechanism for financial management and you can be rest assured that the individuals that make up TeHN will support whatever is decided in their own individual capacities.

Regards

Okay. Judging from what Alutacontinua said, there's no definitive way to know if chemo will give a positive result or not and B**** has co-signed her post. So whatever decision we make now onwards, we have to hope for the very best. Well we can't fold our hands and seek for alternative cure while DJ is not yet undergoing any treatment.

So this is MY opinion on this:

1. Start the chemo treatment at LCC. Let's go with the NY suggestion. If we along the line, find an alternative cure/method, it'll be relayed to the doctors to get their opinions.

2. Send this B**** appraisal to LLC or LUTH and ask of their opinions.

3. While the treatment is going on or if possible tomorrow, fulfill this part of B**** wishes - "If his performance status was good, then I would want to know whether more detail could be obtained from the cytology of the cells in the ascites, or obtain a core biopsy from a deposit if a deposit is identifiable on CT."

That's if it's possible. Two heads are better than one.

Other contributions are needed. Time no dey again.

Exactly but medically doctors are somewhat restricted to that as a way of controlling/eradicating the deadly thing with absolutely no guarantees.

Most people with such prognosis are usually treated as an EoL patient

It's very important that we all put heads together and endorse a plan ASAP since:
1) Hammed is very frail
2) There is the risk that it keeps spreading
3) We don't have any more time for arguments as it's very important that he embarks on whatever treatment plan the house endorses immdediately

lf i know for certain that i would be chanced that day, i would volunteer but i cant.
sorry for the unsolicited explanation but aside from going to inspect sites to give quotation at a moments notice by clients and sourcing and supplying at a deadline upon mobilization, i have a few distrubutors and once order is made, the next 3 days is used for sourcing, printing, supervicing production and delivery. The only time i left it unsupervised nearly cost me a valued distributor because of someone trying to short change materials.
The only day i am certain of being free is sunday. l may commit myself and get a call for replenishing of stocks and l wouldnt want to call to give excuses at the last hour.
pardon the epistle, just wanted to shed little light on why l cant give any promise.

2. Chai!! Wahala dey o. sadcry If we can't get updates or the doctors' informations regarding their progress, then confusion and unrest will arise. This situation is critical. This is sad. Oga Pick, is there a way to see if a doctor can write down the progress of the treatment which an internet savvy neighbour or family member can then come online to update? Because without update (or with a wrong update), this project won't work out. Accusations will fill up the thread.
