Hi guys,I'm an avid reader of this section of nairaland and I've been inspired by some people's work here . This caused me to take the bold step of penning some words down though I'm quite new to it . I would like my poems to be reviewed and any constructive criticism is welcome. .Thank you in advance. Stench of Divorce Man and woman two in love A day set , the lady on gloves Vows exchanged , faces in curve All before the one above Honeymoon trip days of bliss Had them share more than a kiss Family and friends none they miss 'Cause their union was one of peace Marriage years down the lane Boy and girl got added to train Mum, dad ,Richard and Jane Enviable family devoid of stain All of a sudden,instant of an hour The good marriage began to go sour Mum curses, dad raises hammer Kids scram -an escape from the whole drama Cheating starts misunderstanding reinforced All these cause things to get worse Left to wonder if the marriage was forced As it all ends in a bitter divorce 9 Likes

Melancholy  Pain in my marrow My heart is filled with sorrow Anytime I think of tomorrow I want to escape to a burrow. Friends in coma Families in trauma Why can't life be like summer When happy moments are no brainstormer Bright, full of joy and much gleamer But reality says I'm a daydreamer Is there really hope for the future Assurance for generations not yet in the picture For we refute words of the scripture Yet bow to worship a sculpture We revel in man's torture To leave a legacy without structure The cord of love that unite us ruptures what we have ,a world full of punctures Maybe what we need is a capture A launch into the realm of rapture Perhaps that would provide a lasting departure From this uncanny distemperature 5 Likes

Life I say is a book of open file Each page turned gives a pile Of shit or a well thought style Journey made through each mile Can leave one thrilled or up in rile We live in a world full of vices Wicked people using evil devices To make artifice that entices Deceiving both experienced and novices To what end-to leave in crisis Whether female or male Each has got a tale Some fresh others stale Of struggles that have left them frail Or strong like a gale 4 Likes

My inspiration When asked for my inspiration I tried to give a vivid description Of my father , maker of all creation Alpha and omega, owner of all nations His son was sent down for crucifixion Made to suffer a great tribulation His persecution had no justification Yet he endured for my salvation With him there's no probation In him, I have no condemnation To him I give all adoration His word I will share for propagation My heart is filled with much exaltation To one who's deserving in all ramifications So I write these words of appreciation To the lord, my inspiration 5 Likes

CHILDHOOD The way we ran helter skelter When we heard rain splatter Searching for a place of shelter With feet making pitty patter On our lips were a thousand questions We wanted answered without hesitation With full spirit of inquisition Asking for proverb interpretations For demands of sweet and candy We had an ally in daddy That ofcourse was when he came in handy Otherwise mummy remained our best buddy With stomach full and round We play na.ked in the compound Jumping with peers on playground Oblivious of adults around Our first day at school I remember was not at all cool As our tears and drools Could well fill a pool Who could blame we little ones Who left our mothers not for once Despite how father warns "Your clinginess'd make you a dunce" With much fun and even more food Everything looked and felt so good As I recall those days of happy mood I can't help but miss my childhood 7 Likes

REAL MAN Sometimes I see guys Who claim to be so macho Burning brimstone in their eyes Left a match,they have no show Sometimes I watch boys Say to people,''we're men'' Yet treat women like toys And still act like they're ten Sometimes I hear males Boast about their manhood Girls humped make their list of tales With wife they are never in the mood Many times I ask myself Who really is a man He's one who is not all about self As his family's happiness top his plan 4 Likes

My Picture Your Treasure All you want is a picture I know to you is a treasure Unable I to give b'cs of this fixture For my bed has caused me a seizure To it I'm bound like a suture Glowering with great discomfiture One I can't give an accurate measure I hope you don't see this as a literature Written to avoid a photo capture For I promise to take one in my leisure Tomorrow closeby when not under pressure As you know it's always my pleasure To have you gaze at my denture 2 Likes
