Help!!! Clutch Problems In My Honda by coldsoup(op): 10:16pm On Jan 28, 2015
please i drive a 2001 honda civic manual transmission , one day while i was driving around December last year a bus driver swerved and pulled to a stop in front of me , i immediately pulled to a stop and shifted to gear one but i observed that my clutch was depressed, i just turned off shifted to neutral and pushed the car to the side of the road, luckily for me ,i used my feet to push the clutch up and it started working again, i thought this problem was due to low gear box oil levels, so i put gear box oil, this resulted in the gearbox becoming so stiff, to the extent that i had to drive to the mechanic on gear 2,the mechanic ended up changing the master and slave clutch and also did some other things, i collected my car and i drove it for about 3 days suddenly while i was cruising my clutch just fell flat, this happened with no previous warnings, i had to park immediately but i noticed that i could change gears when the car was off and to move the car ,i have to fire as i start it,i calledd the mechanic he came and bleed my slave clutch and promised me it will never happen again, it happened againn and again to the extent that now im an expert at bleeding my clutch.
HELP im tired not being able to trust my car and not knowing when my clutch will mess me up, imagine i was giving a lady i like a ride from church , she is a fellow student suddenly my cars messes me up, it has gotten to me and all the mechs ive meet are clueless

First of all, I must ask this:

We're the clutch master and slave cylinders new, or used?

If it were my car then it would get new master, slave and hose.

How sure are you that mechanic used new parts?

yes very sure

Rare, but I've seen it happen, new parts do fail.

So have your mechanic either replace the two hydraulic units (changing any rubber hose is a must due to internal collapse which may not be evident from the outside) or bench test them.

The words in bold almost made me laugh my bowels out. As advised by Siena and CityNG, replace the parts again but this time i advise that you go with him to get the parts. There are a lot of substandard parts these days. At the spare parts shop, request for the original parts from the dealer

Pics or you know the rest.........

They might be fake, but will function for a resonable amount of time before failing.

If the hose is not leaking, do not replace it.
