It seems that JOHESU members won't be paid this month while they pay Militants for doing nothing. What JOHESU members are asking for is not too much to be looked in to,all they ask for is a level playing field, let there pay and welfare be in par with other civil servants. These are people that come in contact with patients that have various deadly communicable diseases.they treat patients with AIDS(not saying HIV full blown AIDS)HIV,hepatitis A,B,C to mention but a few.what health workers are being paid in Nigeria is never in par with the sacrifices they make. The heart of an African man is indeed BLACK |

finniblinks:You sit at home for four months and expect to be paid for doing nothing. Just because you wish to be called a consultant and earn the same pay as a doctor, when your qualifications are not at par. |

| Re: No Salary For JOHESU Members? by GBTYO: 8:27am On Jan 29, 2015 |
finniblinks:Rather than ask for an increase in their hazard allowance why not negotiate for a workman compensation plan? If they pay them one million naira monthly how does that help if they eventually get infected with a fatal disease? The issue to be lobbied by their unions is an adequate compensation plan that may include full medical treatment and financial compensation for life if in the line of duty they become accidentally infected. The unions should also look into provision of adequate kits and regular training of personnel by the hospital management. Monetizing hazard will not stop their members from getting accidentally infected or bring about adequate compensation afterwards. Rather, the hospital management will point out that they have been duly compensated with the hazard allowance. Dunces. |

GBTYO:non have been implemented.the government is so insensitive to the plight of JOHESU Even @#5000 hazard allowance, health pay their hospital bills when they infected or are involved work place accidents.it is never equity when u pay doctors #100,000 hazard allowance and pay JOHESU members #5000 |
| Re: No Salary For JOHESU Members? by Nobody: 8:54am On Jan 29, 2015 |
GBTYO:dat is a nonsense bargaining.can u sacrifice ur life in return with taking care of u wen u get infected? It is only in Africa employers impose unorthodox conditions to employees.they will never follow wot is obtainable in the western world. |

kay1one:u will always equate Nigeria with the western world but when it comes to equity in welfare of health workers,u will employ ur selfish purpose in other union's fight for equity. A professor from any field can be a VC.what stops a pharmacist from being a medical director or a consultant if he has what it takes? |

kay1one:one thing most doctors don't understand is the fact that being a medical doctors does not make greater than others.A zoologist is ur president and the APC wannabe presdo is an illiterate. |

There should be equality in the health sector irrespective of profession. That sector shouldn't be the fiefdom of the physicians. Why are physicians in Nigeria so indifferent to the plight of their professional colleagues in the sector? It's a Big shame on our government too that has allowed themselves to be held at the mercies of the Physicians. I have no business in the sector, only calling for equality. Btw: our Medics are overrated themselves |
