Stupidity is when people begin to talk about and analyse issues that they know nothing about, yet try to sound like they are experts on the matter. So much thrash being posted here. Nigeria is filled up with so many internet warriors, lions and gangsters. Most of the morons sitting behind their keyboards and maligning the Nigerian army,do not have the boldness to even volunteer their lives to defend the nation. But they come online to insult and rain abuses on people who left loving families at home,to go pay the ultimate price in defending the nation. They are so quick to open the gutter they call mouths,to say "it is not my job;I'm not a soldier" or "the soldiers are being paid to do their job;it is what they signed for",as if there are special people who must die for them to live. If you guys have no idea of what's going on in the north-east,wouldn't it be better if you kept your mouths shut rather than coming online to spew rubbish and paint the entire army and leadership of a nation bad out of ignorance? There is a problem with sabotage in the army which the military high command are aware of. The solution to that,is not making unfounded statements and ridiculing the entire army in the process. If you feel you know so much about military warfare and counter-insurgency operations;then go and join the army and contribute your quota. You guys keep saying the Nigerian army is weak, yet you can still type comfortably from your living rooms;it's those so called weaklings that has made that possible. People keep mentioning the exploits Nigerian soldiers performed in Liberia and Sierra-Leone and they compare that with insurgency in the north-east;these are two different scenarios. In Liberia, there were several factions and ECOMOG soldiers were actually in charge of the capital,Monrovia. This was so because there was actually a rebel faction in support of the ECOMOG troops and the ECOMOG troops only had to fight against the Taylor led rebel group. It's on record that Samuel Doe was actually captured after He visited the ECOMOG headquaters. He never made it back to his house. The ECOMOG troop couldn't prevent him from being captured and killed.

What's my point in all of these? Our soldiers have tried their best in the last 6yrs in battling these insurgents, despite the difficult nature of this war. Fighting against an enemy who has a representative that you can't fish out in your midst, isn't a very easy job. In our peace keeping missions in Liberia and sierra leone,we never encountered such. There was no record of sabotage amongst the troops.

As Nigerians,I understand that we all want to take pride in our armed forces being the ones to re-capture our towns back from the insurgents but in a situation where our own people are making that impossible, what do we do? Let's stop talking like the battle is as easy as waving a magical wand;there's no president who would be happy to be in GEJ's position right now.

The best reasonable post ever on this thread...

recapture without showing proof of slain BH members goes a long way to uphold the theory or suspicion that CHADIAN army is simply bokoharam in uniform and Northern Nigeria is facing systematic inversion by its poor neighbors aided by foreign interests.
were we not here with eyes open when cameroun with the help of france took Bakassi under the guise of a fictititous agreement/pact

we are likely to lose if we go to war with chad.patriotism and bragado aside, most of our military arsenal have been grounded,we dont have any supersonic combat jet that can challenge the chadian MiG-29{even without laser missiles},many of our MBTs are grounded, and the few we have are barely beating back BH in the north east, our APCs are limited and we have resorted to using hilux pickup vans to ferry our troops.
chad wouldnt have made this move if it wasnt prepared to fight nigeria, over the years they have stocked their armoury both through black market proliferations and also through legal international weapon purchase channels.they have waited over 50 years, they arent gonna take any chances.
we have 130 000 soldiers, chad has 30 000.but most of our soldiers are untrained almajiris, while chadian troops have been fighting all manner of battles for over 30 years.
the reason why it seems bokoharam is stronger than the Nigerian army is because they have infiltrated into the ranks of the Nigerian army, thereby making the army very predictable and vulnurable.so it is easier for them to dispose of the Nigerian army but difficult to combat any other army.this is why a group of armed vigilante could take out bokoharam...take note bros,Nigerian army will finish Chadian army at a go,when it comes to war..

When shall we be tired of excuses? Its a disgrace to a sovereign nation that foreign troops will be operating within your territory.

Let us see how things progress. If they don't vacate the Area, we go to war with Chad, it's as simple as that.
We can't face a group of the Chadian sponsored Boko Haram yet you said we shall go to war with the full Chadian army to recapture our land.
That's part of what we shall see if we don't vote out this daft president Jonathan on FeBuhari.

It's a shame and an indictment on the so called commander-in-chief to have Chad, imagine... CHAD taking the initiative and doing what the Nigerian army has failed countless times to do.

Wow!!!... I've never felt so pitiful and ashamed to have this kind of president wallahi

God forbid, Jonathan continues after February 14th.

Tufiakwa!!!

Change must come!

Buhari to revive our pride and gallantry as Nigerians.

Goodluck Jonathan has completely mismanaged the Nigerian armed forces to the point that Chad is able to root out Boko Haram from a village where our army was not able to. At the same time he is giving Asari, Tompolo and Ateke Tom licenses to import heavy arms and buy warships.
I'm convinced there is a conspiracy going on to weaken the armed forces and to strengthen the Niger Delta militants in anticipation of a future eventual showdown.

When we tell some political illiterate that GEJ won't repeat the mistakes of Zik Ironsi and Ojukwu, they don't believe

My son

The best way to create a better Nigeria is to handover the far North to Niger and Chad. cool

Its time to send them to their brothers

Think well and deep angry

Shut up fool, fighting insurgency is not the same with going all out in war because their will be a battlefield with less considerations to collateral damage. Cameroon run to France when the Nigerian government is considering military action in Bakassi province.Chad will not think twice of vacating the area if Nigeria issue a directive.Remember to vote on valentine day for future of this great country, that is the best you can do than to come online to argue how a group of 30000 desert forces will defeat a whole country army as if we are watching a Rambo film.
Proudly Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria
God bless GEJ
God bless Nigeria military
One day our country will be back to us

In the olden days when Buhari ruled, he drove the Chadians out of Nigeria, nowadays, Nigeria has no strength to even drive Chad out, who knows they may want revenge for what Buhari did to them so long ago before most of us were even born. In any case, if Buhari comes into power, he will drive out the Chadians and reclaim the glory of Nigeria once more. GEJ is just too darn stupid and mumuish.
