Soludo leave this woman and Gej alone we are proud of her and our lovely president Gej.. what did you achieve while u were the CBN governor? but NOI has achieved lots withing this period of time... Nigeria has been rated as the 3rd fastest growing economy in the world despite the insurgency .. nor b magic ooh, na good policies. so leave this ppl alone. if you had don well, CNN for still acknowledged ur efforts... imagine where 9ja would have been if this government was as peaceful as Obj's when u were the CBN governor. so plz relax ok! Gej/NOI does not need any other distraction cos they have lots @hand now. if u need job, do good to apply... Thanx

Soludo is bitter because anambra pipo denied him access to their treasury. The dude now preping to take Ngozi's job with the anticipation Buhari's victory.
I read d entire article yet I find the timing a suspect. This is politics not economics. He shd spare us this nonsense of 'patriotic' duty.
Backing d wrong horse!

Dude forgot he is part of the collapse...
Economy does not collapse in a day it takes a process..which he was part of.

They keep thinkin nigerians are stupid..

Well jokes on them..

THE US IS FUCKING US ALL..
bro! after going thru the facts and figures tabled by the able Prof. Soludo and you still make this stupid comment, then i will completely agree with you that Nigerians are not stvpid but you are obviously very stupid and lacks proper education! undecided

if you are so dumb not to understand what national economic indices means pls learn to use google! To buttress my point pls google Nigeria economic indices in the final quarter of 2011 and compare the figures to what is obtainable now - despite iweala's doctoring of the figures to look good on paper! - then you will agree with me that you and Ngozi Iweala needs to go back to school ASAP!

GEJ and Iweala has made nuisance of our economy! forget the doctored figures they keep posting to cover their obvious ignorance in the management of national economy!

If they continue to manage our economy, then i can guarantee you that before the end of second quarter of 2015 Nigeria will be in a deep economic quagmire of which the country may find itself in serious deficit!

"You are brilliant Madam, but you need serious help. Having spent all your life in the World Bank bureaucracy largely in administration/operations, no one will blame you if your economics has become a bit rusty. There are firebrand Nigerians all over the world to draft to service. It is certainly embarrassing to Nigeria for you to be bothering World Bank economists to help you with most basic economic analysis. " #lyricallymurdered.

Soludo initially thought he could step out of political appointment then just walk into politics and win...Lol
He learnt a lesson he could not have learnt any other way. All the money he made as CBN governor, salaries , bonuses etc was wasted in that election.

So now, he has to work all his life again to earn a living.
Now he is back dabbling into politics, being used as a tool.
Criticising NOI when even CNN has confirmed Nigeria's economy to be on the rise much better than whatever he did.
And CNN's confirmation is based on what indices? Don't be a daft punk angry

Soludo is just seeking attention. Even if he knew some economic parameters were manipulated for the year 2011, why is he coming up now with the so-called facts? He sought to become governor under this same PDP but was rejected. He was there for years as the CBN governor and economic adviser to President OBJ, did take steps on the diversification of our economy? Some forget so soon that the debt pardon that Nigeria had in OBJ's era was not without NOI's effort. Soludo is actually a spent politician. He should face his job as a teacher.

I like when people like this give constructive criticism about government policies without supporting any political parties, but now depend on sensitive government to take note and amend the policy that can yeid any positive benefit for the govern.

I will also like prof. to respond to alegation of wrong doing of some banks under his tenur as CBN gov.

thank god we still have people who can read the writing on the wall!

i honestly still don't understand why GEJ is still re-contesting for re-election! is it that he doesn't know that the sh1t is about to hit the fan or he is pretending not know. He very well knows that with him at the helm of affairs in 2015 Nigeria will be a dead nation economically!

why cant he just honourably resign and let someone else park this big poop that he dumped! undecided

If GEJ continue in office till June, eehem! let me reserve my comment - but believe you me it will be terrible! lipsrsealed

When two elephants fight the grass suffer. Please let's look at this from a neutral angle. While I agree that Fayemi's response was more professional and more matured, it is also important to note that Soludo simply spanked APC by saying it's plans were unrealistic, but at the same time he thrashed PDP by calling the government a failure and referring to the economic management team of madam is poor. That was an attack on madam.

Now to the issue, statistics are funny and I usually have problems with economists because they rely more on statistics than reality. I know for sure that Soludo is very wrong about his comment on Peter Obi. Anambrarians know that Peter Obi was not just a good governor but a very modest governor whose performance speaks out.

I also know that somehow Soludo gave us 25 banks out of which some were sick and eventually government had to spend money to bail out. I also recall that when madam Ngozi was insisting we save our excess crude money governor Amaechi and the governors forum vehemently kicked against it, and eventually we ended up sharing the money. I remember that under Soludo our inflation rate was around 13% but today it stands at a single digit of around 8%.

This is the same NOI that forbes rated as one of the most underatted achievers of 2015. This is the same Nigerian economy rated by the world bank and CNN as the third fastest growing for 2015. It would be wrong for Soludo to say madam was not part of his glory days as CBN governor. He has worked under two presidents while madam had worked under 3. I know madam's team would bring their reply and give us their own stats which would flaw Soludo's stats, again let's not forget that stats can be decieving.

Soludo's response is classic. You cannot deny empirical facts. Why did NOI review the NBS methodoly of data gathering to suite her purpose. I will suggest a poverty re-evaluation of the Jonathan's era based on the previous data gathering methodoly. This should tell us who is telling the truth and who is deceiving Nigerians. Meanwhile, the attached truly is a snap shot of the realities.

Going through this report one could easily discern that beyond the laudable postives from the consolidation policies, Soludo spent most of the time indicting the person of NOI and not necessarily the economy as a whole though it was couched to a appear as if it is all about the economy.

One is left to conclude that there is a sort of anger or a hint of simmering enmity between the two.

What Nigerians would like is not debate but an independent assessment of the economy before Obasanjo, after Obasanjo, Yaradua and Jonathan... An impartial observer who is not beholden to any of them.

From both the initial, the rebuttal and the reply one could only gleam the ,"peni.s" measuring assement of the two economist about their pedigree and work and not about Nigeria.

Lastly economics is not an exact science. What works today is bound to be useless the next day.

Socialism as a political and economic philosophy works in China today but don't look towards Venezuela for an example...Same can be said of capitalism.

I won't debate with you because I can sense you are quite myopic.

Which yeye oil? Even if oil reaches $200/ barrel GEJ and his team of economist have ruined and still ruining the economy.

When you unborn great grand children have to pay for a debt this administration is inviting it will be too late and sad then.

The problem with clueless people is that they base Nigeria's economy strength and sickness solely on the global oil price which is NOT SO.

What did he achieve?
nothing.
Instead he left Nigerians with a 16 trillion naira debt.
which was paid for by the AMCON sovereign wealth fund.
Soludo or what is he called is shameless. He served under this govt for many years, then the party is d best in d country. But now ds guy is castigating his once beloved and best party. Nigerian are not fools, we can't forget so soon. Ogbeni forget it for now, we're still nursing d wounds u inflicted on us when u're CBN gov. D guy is just too irrelevant now. Pcheeeew.

I think I agree with you. The economy is in such a bad shape that I wonder where they pluck their growth figures from. The expose by Soludo that the books are being cooked is the only justifiable explanation.

Massive job loss expected later in the year irrespective of who wins. This will be our own real version of economic melt down.

Small businesses are packing up like say tomorrow no dey. The bad hit are those Bank contractors who handle their legal, construction, security, out sourcing and others.

I don't want to mention the 3 major banks that will be mostly hit so as not to create panic

January 17th I mentioned on a thread of 5 PDP governors who will decamp to APC at the last minute. 2weeks later a newspaper reported it. I TRY TO BE FACTUAL AND SPEAK WITH UTMOST FACT.
