Good News!

Not because he is the best
Not because I like his person
Not because I believe any of his lies
Not because I will vote him

Strike: JOHESU threatens to withdraw members in the private sectorBy Timothy Enietan-Matthews on February 2, 2015
Subcribe to Daily Post Newsletter

The Joint Sector Union, JOHESU has issued the Federal Government one week ultimatum to resolve all issues in their current nationwide strike or the union will be forced to drag health practitioners in the private sector into the ongoing strike action.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the President, Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigeria, PSN, Olumide Akintayo, on behalf of the Association Of Medical Laboratory Scientists Of Nigeria, AMLSN and Nigeria Society For Physiotherapists, NSP.

The group said it has resolved to invite their respective members in the private sector to join the on-going strike.

It said JOHESU, in the next few days, would carry out the threat if the Federal Government fails to accede to the health workers’ demands by the first week of February.

The group also threatened to boycott the February polls with all their family members unless government
resolves all its outstanding demands within the first week of February.

Akintayo said: “Presidents of the striking JOHESU rose from a consultative meeting at the weekend and after a holistic evaluation of the strike are of the view that the health workers’ strike does not worry government.

“Rather than resolve and issue enabling circulars in line with the 12-point demand, the government at both the federal and state levels, have been busy campaigning while substantial fatalities continue to be inflicted on consumers of health in Nigeria”.

Strike suspended all in the bid to avoid the "no work no pay 100days rule" just to receive January salary and d fear of being dealt with after GEJ finally becomes re-elected.....Hmmm...nice but cheap cowardly and greedy move by JOHESU!
Re: Health Workers "JOHESU" Calls Off Strike by Evvilgenius: 6:55pm On Feb 02, 2015
Lol. JOHESU just punished Nigerians for no justifiable reason.
They dropped their tools, locked hospital equipment like its their personal possession, hid keys to various places in the hospitals and even went as far as assaulting innocent sick patients and doctors to the extent of tear gassing preterm babies, an asthmatic doc and other patients.
This people are wicked, thuggish and no different from the almajiris causing unrest in the north.

Kudos to the graduate nurses who dissociated and distanced themselves from such people. God bless them.

Am curious. So what was discussed in that meeting that stopped the strike that couldn't be discussed at least a week after the strike to stop it then?

Where are the so called Johesu members that used to make animal noise on nairaland, i bet they are now covered in shame.

You embark on 3mnths strike then wake up and call it off..so what did you achieve or are you tired of staying at home lol

Biggest shame to the distinguished pharmacists who belittled themselves and sold out their respect, all in the name of fighting doctors.

Re: Health Workers "JOHESU" Calls Off Strike by Nobody: 8:13pm On Feb 02, 2015
Well...strike is over.

But the issues remain.

I guess we won't see anything till after May 29th....then cometh the MOTHER of all strikes.

Oh well....time for a National Conference on Health in Nigeria.

Hope they won't be too hostile and make working conditions unconfortable for us because their outrageous demands are not only unrealistic but also not implementable.privatization is the lasting solution to this power tussle so that everyone will stay where he or she belongs and work for his or money.job description is another thing that should be put in place.u are welcome back to work and place do remember to bring along the keys to the theatre and other places because my operation list is long already, I CAN'T WAIT,"those patients have really suffered!.
