Op, please stop disturbing us with this old crap.
See, I get am before, no be property o o. You should know that 2011 is not 2015. There are a lot of issues Buhari trash effortlessly 2011 that he becomes deaf and dumb when it's mentioned 2015.
You must believe me that Buhari's almighty Integrity status has been deflated badly. Have it in mind that, in 2011, both Buhari's and Jonathan's debate points was what they will do, but now, to Buhari, it still remains what I will do, but to Jonathan, it's what I've done and how to consolidate. Buhari can never stand Jonathan's intellectual fire power, you know that.

Waiting for Jonathan the Runaway Debater.

He ran away from presidential debate for not getting EXPO (the questions before the Debate)

He had a shameless counter debate with dbanj (who was not contesting the 2011 election)

What he did with Dbanj was a big disgrace, so he went ahead debating himself alone on National TV

For instance, Gen Buhari was apt and very clear in his plans for my darling Niger Delta. He has a clear plan, he went straight to the point and knows what he wants for the region.

If pro-PDP and Jonathan apologists can be very open to the scrutiny of both candidates we won't have any problem in deciding who is best for Nigeria.

There was a sort of level playing ground or some sense of dignity in the polity in 2011 unlike this era of desperados in power who are ready to go to any lenght to perpetuate themselves in power.

It is an unwise mission debating with people who will go as far as forging national statistics, buying all the buyables institutions just to protect their interest. Imagine you fully prepared with a verifiable fact and statistics and the ruling President just start reeling out all manners of doctored documents on official papers and before you have enough time to decode the lies the election would have been won and lost.

The emboldened is the more reason I support the General to debate to expose and counter any fraud. PS the trio of ChannelsTV/AriseTV and NPAN have not shown any kind of partiality or favoritism to the best of my knowledge. The debate of 2007 was organised by NEDG and Buhari not only honored it but did well.

There is a reason why people retire from service. In the case of Buhari is his dwindling mental functions leading to a period of not only forgetfulness but also incapacitation.

Buhari's brain has stop developing and has taken a downward trend as a result of natural causes and too much inertia.

Please all these people making a big deal out of this debate let me ask something, if Buhari pulls out why should GEJ too pull out? First things first, there are about 12 parties running so why can't he go debate the rest. Why should Buhari dictate what GEJ would do? Then even if it's a two-man debate, he can still show up to prove his dedication, he has experience in debating alone anyway so why is it different now? If a particular interview was part of the process to get a position in a company between you and another guy vying for that position and the other guy decides not to show up, I'll gladly attend and use that opportunity to sell myself without any interruption. First it'll show my dedication, then I'll be able to just push my points across unhindered.

Don't hold your breath expecting to find this thread on FrontPage. Nairaland mods only put up GEJ-favorable material.

I am not against him participating in debetes organised by the neutral bodies but I know his campaign organisations must have a very cogent reason for taking such a decision and I actually felt sad when Osinbajo couldn't attend the VP debate because it is certain that he will roast Sambo live and direct .

I don't really know why you take this debate of a thing too serious... Not that am in support of buhari not attending the debate but he and our party have every right to participate or not participate in any intellectual debate. If his not participating in the debate is good for the party, so be it.... We should always have it in the backs of our minds that buhari will defeat a clueless gej whose "PhD should be questioned and investigated" in any intellectual debate.

Btw debates don't win elections in this country because 80% of the electorates won't even watch the debate.

You see the emboldened is what I really don't understand from some of us. Buhari is in the opposition, we need to keep the fire burning and use every legitimate platform to gain as many followership as possible and ensure that our followers turn advocates. The debate would have allowed Buhari to clear most of the propaganda against him (I believe in him) and also make Nigerians see that his plans for the country is not only superior to Jonathan but is sincere and will be pursued to logical end. The debate isn't about Jonathan or PDP but about Buhari consolidating on his popularity and even gain more.

@Those shouting Jonathan fled 2011 also: Nigerians became conscious of Political debate after Jonathan absconded from the 2011 debate.

bro, the Presidency is an Administrative position. Tunisia just elected an 88 years old man to preside over their affairs. I don't know your point but age isn't a factor here. The General is still as firing as he was in 1984.

Don't misunderstand me, I was disappointed when I heard. I was actually watching the interview live and no joke my heart dropped a little when he said they were not attending. I was directing this to Pro-GEJ folks that want to make a big deal about Buhari not showing up. My point was, Buhari not showing up shouldn't be enough reason for GEJ not to show up.

I'll still love Buhari to debate, I'll love to talk to someone with some kind of influence in the campaign to advise Buhari to attend at least one debate. I agree there's still a lot of room to win over undecideds and seal this thing once and for all. I said it before and I still maintain that GEJ has a lot more to lose than Buhari with regards to these debates so I'm not sure what the Buhari campaign is worried about.

The mentality of some politicians is "Who will vote will vote, who will not vote will not vote". Just listen to Buhari's position on Power. Anyway, I will continue to campaign for GMB.

The General isn't running from debate my friend. He participated in two debates in the past, so he has nothing to fear. I am sure you have watched the video and impressed with his outing. Of course other non issues has come up but one thing I love about the General is that he knows how to put his detractors to their place.

But he avoided Jonathan intellectual fire power in 2011 NEDG debate, instead he choosed to attend other debate. He played the same prank this time around, unfortunately for him, JOE BOY is ready for him all corner hence his running away like endangered chicken.

I am not talking of his age rather the quality of his presentations in these presidential campaigns he is presently engaged.

He has lost the passion, charisma, articulation and the vision for a new Nigeria. In summary, his memories have failed, he is lost with the past.

He is absolutely backward.

This is where you get it wrong. Jonathan boycotted the unbiased NN24 debate that involved the FOUR leading candidates but Jonathan backed out. The NEDG debate we know was a PDP affair, so not only Buhari, other candidates boycotted.

I just watched it.
They were graded by articulation, content and delivery:
1st Shekarau
2nd Ribadu
3rd Buhari

Don't deceive NL youths who didn't watch it then or remember the ratings after the debate.
Little wonder the APC media team are shielding him from an obvious catastrophe which a debate will bring.
Doubt me? Remember his answer to the question on present administration policy yesterday? .........That is what is termed loose cannon in PR.
Oh and by the way, when I meant Ribadu floored him I mean "ribbed" or "stroked".

Really? Don't be deceived, Mr "Integrity" and his corrupt personifed entities with their "change" mantra have nothing to offer the Niger Delta and its inhabitants. It is really a pity that some of the folks on this forum get swayed by these deceitful fellows in the name of "change". Have you paused and ask: "who are these individuals(Amaechi, Saraki, Atiku, Obasanjo, Tinubu, Akande, etc) in the same boat with Buhari?"
