Yaound - Cameroon soldiers clashed with Boko Haram fighters in the border town of Fotokol on Wednesday as the Islamists fled an offensive by Chad's army, security sources said. The Islamists "entered this morning," a Cameroonian security source said, after Chadian troops recaptured the Nigerian town of Gamboru just across the border. "Fighting between them and our soldiers is really intense." In a deserted Gamboru, Chadian forces carried out clean-up operations after entering the town on Tuesday and retaking it from Boko Haram, which seized control months ago. "When the Chadians entered Gamboru, the Boko Haram members who were in the town and some villages fled to meet up this morning in Fotokol," the security source said. While a bridge separates Fotokol from Gamboru, it is possible to also cross over from surrounding villages. Chadian jet fighters had also bombed Gamboru before its troops entered. The regional military efforts have highlighted the failure of Nigeria's army to stop the six-year Boko Haram insurgency. Nigeria's military said on Tuesday the country's sovereignty was not compromised despite the presence of Chadian ground troops and claimed to be "driving the present onslaught". The offensive comes at a crucial moment, with Nigeria's presidential and parliamentary elections set for February 14. http://m.news24.com/nigeria/World/News/Cameroon-troops-clash-with-fleeing-Boko-Haram-fighters-20150204-4 |

This clearly shows that the sabotage in the Nigerian Army has been the show stopper to this fight against Bokoharam. The picture is clearer now. They staged the chibok attack to eliminate the option of air raids. They've termed it genocide in time past and they said the fight against Bokoharam is a fight against the north. We should never have been one country if our security is not common interest. Shame on the kidnappers of girls Shame on those who made insurgency a campaign point Shame on those who condemned the fight against BH Shame on the enemies of Nigeria. The fight is on and war must be won. Transformation is a must and evil forces of darkness cannot stop it. Vote wisely. |

9jatriot: Nigerian army has acted as a shock force allowing for steady attrition of BH fighters -e.g the battle of maiduguri on sunday-although at a cost a number of fine gentlemen...thus softening up battle field operations for Chad to take advantage with devastating precision and speed...We can say the Nigerian Army bears the bulwark of this well planned and sophisticated multinational campaign. iiichidodo:if this your statement is not politically motivated then I say a big thumps up to our gallant men and women who because of politics have had to lose respect, men, ammunition and credibility. I am indeed happy. The blood spilled in those areas hunts me. I hate it when people mix politics with such sensitive issues as massive killings |

9jatriot: It isn't a question of bias but the facts speak for themselves.. firefights at Maiduguri,monguno,marte,Bama,Gwoza..has resulted into BH bearing devastating losses with minimal losses on our side. We can easily replace our casualties with fresh well trained re-inforcements whilst BH are forced to use child soldiers...How do you think child or teenage soldiers will fare against professional soldiers from Nigeria and Chad??...That is the fact. iiichidodo:. The facts are BH supply line has being disrupted BH is fighting on many fronts God is behind this latest victory which started in France after the Charley attack. GEJ's prayers are being answered Buhari is not God's choice. ![]() |

some monkeys insulted me last week for saying their is a joint military operations in the border towns with permission for incursion. hope am vindicated now even though the cowards will still twist the news. don't be surprised when you finally hear that some of those fighter jets are manned by Nigerian Army personnel who are trusted. anyway, i should not say much again because i may be giving out too much |

iiichidodo:Easy iiichidodo, please don't mistake my comments for bias. I have always being of the opinion that if we had acted very early the casualty level on the military and civilian side would have being low. I am shocked though that it is taking the Chadian involvement for us to start having what looks like a success after a long time when the soldiers have been more in the press than on the field. Whatever it takes to win the fight against boko haram and save lives I am in support. we will sort out the diplomatic aspects of that later. |

BlackTechnology: Yes we analysed and postulated those facts in the early days of this multi national campaign before they manifested days ago even going as far (when all others were blasting GEJ) to give a bird's eye view of the situation to that will playout at maiduguri, the resulting slaughter and the need to push back the fight back to their strongholds which all culminated into their encirclement and isolation at several locations in this moment but you will permit us to explain for neutrals in detail the crucial dirty work our boys have played to turn the tide favourably just so they don't think cameroon and chad did it all by themselves... | Re: Breaking: Cameroon Troops Clash With Fleeing Boko Haram Fighters by Adminisher: 1:15pm On Feb 04, 2015 |
BlackTechnology:Rubbish. Two weeks to elections God answered GEJ's prayers. After 20000 people have died and 270 girls stolen and raped. Only the black race has living people to think like this. Chadian Army is now chasing Book Haram from Nigeria for Cameroonian army to kill and you are not disappointed in your country?. Or maybe you are so used to National failure in football, in international reputation, in quality of your President that nothing can bring you lower,. |

9jatriot: It never had to come that level with chad but you must understand the ethno-religious politics at play here......we had Ihejirika doing a fantastic job reducing their numbers but there were calls of genocide and incitement of the locals a result that led most young men joining the Jihad with BH....at a point it got to our doorsteps via bombings in our cities. We also had saboteurs in the army..those who sentimentally aligned with BH. Let us forget the role of the APC media propaganda for another day. With Chad in the fight,we have killed a lot of birds with one stone.....maybe next time, having an idea of the ethno-political dynamics that will play eventually, the NA should immiediately outsource their jobs to chad thereby saving themselves the media heckling and opposition propaganda. iiichidodo:It is that opposition part that I do not like hearing. I prefer a man who admits failure to one who ascribes his failure to someone else. It you insist that Chadians and Cameronians are working with Nigerian army then that is fine. If it is only chad and Cameroon doing it, then we better stop calling ourselves giants of Africa ooooooooooooo. Are you on ground there? or an arm chair analyst like some of us? |

iiichidodo:It's much more helpful for the NA to kill BH in the name of Chad if we don't want this latest offensive termed 'genocide'. |
| Re: Breaking: Cameroon Troops Clash With Fleeing Boko Haram Fighters by iiichidodo: 4:22pm On Feb 04, 2015 |
9jatriot: We are emphatic that chadians are working with Nigerians at the sametime cameroon forces are at their own national borders to prevent stragglers from infiltrating and regroupin as observed with the skirmish at Fotokol, Cameroon....Therefore our tag as Giant of Africa is still intact and polished with our very crucial role in this multinational campaign.....Onground? If my analysis has been spot on then credit should go to the 3 year working tour in a PMSC,South Africa.. |
