rozayx5:Na you sabi.. ![]() I pass that route everyday and I know the project is on course because I see the workers on site and I see the pillars that are been erected. Towards the Marina end, they have gotten to the Ijora Olopa area. If you live in Lagos, you can go to that axis and see the work going on for yourself. |

PassingShot:boy is corruption a tree? if it were all axe would have bought in the market for the purpose of cutting it down. corruption is a human like u, you dont expect him to be so foolish by killing people he think are corrupt. a future society without corruption begins with you and me, purge ur mind off ills, in form of stealing, lying etc etc. thos aged you think are corrupt were once of our age. so what are u doing at this age in preparation for a serene society tomorow? ask you self, Goodluck came n met corruption. the change begins with u and me stop pointing fingers. |

tonytony208:No insults were intended. Deadlines were set and reviewed for various reasons. I do not deny that the deadline for project completion has changed a couple of times. It still does not justify you calling a project that is ongoing even as we speak, a "moribund" project. Work on the project has been going on steadily in the last year and much progress has been made. |

nzeadachie:For the records though, the lagos-kano rail revamp n abuja-lagos plans were started by d obasanjo regime. Contract to rebuild Lagos to Kano railway line On 30 October 2006 President Olusegun Obasanjo signed a contract with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation [4] to modernise the Lagos to Kano railway line. This is the first phase of the proposed 3 phase line upgrade. The project has been split up into 5 sections namely Lagos-Ibadan (181 km), Ibadan-Ilorin (200 km), Ilorin-Minna (270 km), Minna–Abuja–Kaduna (360 km), and Kaduna-Kano (305 km). Construction started, but the project was suspended in 2008 following a dispute. China helps with revolutionary "fast" rail Announced 22 March 2006. In terms of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Nigeria’s Federal Government on 16 March, the Guangdong Xinguang International Group is to construct a revolutionary “fast” rail (RFR) system from Lagos to the capital Abuja (where there is no existing railway) as well as light rail lines to the Murtala Mohammed International Airport from Lagos city and to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from the Abuja city centre. According to the minister of commerce, $US2billion has been made available to start the projects, and the Chinese company will also invest in the three planned stages of the projected Abuja light rail system. |

tonytony208:How much can Fashola muscle compared the the Federal government? And he has still done these much? Lagos does not have oil revenue running into billions of dollars constantly per day like FG has. It is only this internally generated revenue(tax) (& you people are still shouting why are they taxing people), and monthly allocation, that Lagos state has. I was very much aware of when the world bank was assisting Lagos state on this project, but they stopped. Which had made it difficult for Lagos to finance it all alone. note, this project is a brand new rail project starting from scratch, unlike rehabilitation that Jonathan is doing. In the case of the FG project, the tracks, rails, stations etc has been built before. They are only rehabilitating, and putting their newly purchased trains(the coaches bought self are not bend new) on the rails. Now in the case of the Lagos light rail, what I expect a responsible federal government to do, is to support the monumental project, considering it would be beneficial to the bulk of the the Nation's work force, which are the 20million 'Nigerians' not 'Lagosians' living in Lagos state. And note: Fashola said in a conference last two weeks that with or without the FG, thy have already straightened out their plan, and the only problem they have now is time. Not money. And I see the project everyday en-route to work, the project has already gotten to Apogbon approaching CMS, shortly after National theater, almost at its final destination. Remarkable Project! |

tonytony208:Those govs you mentioned started landmark rail projects and we can see the structures. Arguably, they would have concluded if Gej did not frustrate them. Don't forget, rail transportation is the responsibility of the FG. Now a challenge to you, please show me any brand new rail project that Gej commenced and concluded in his tenure. |
