Should I Pack Out Or Remain In My Father's House? by uscofield(op): 9:20am On Feb 06, 2015
I am 32 years old, single, working, have a car but go to work with the staff bus, no serious plans on marriage yet but have female friends. My father died last year 2014, and ever before his death, he insisted I live in his house (Built by him) since I am his only son. Now that he is dead, I am thinking of leaving the house for my mum and younger sisters (who are also in the same house at the moment) to occupy. I feel that I am not able to do some things as I am on constant watch of my mum (you know what it means to be only son).
Do you think my choice of leaving the house built by my father for a rented apartment is wise? Please, do not insult me, I know I am not the only one in this shoe. You candid advise is needed.

You can save up your supposed rent and use it to start up your own house since you're not ready to get married , it's better to park into your own house than a rented apartment.

Hmmm....dicey situation. Maybe you should stay for now since you're not ready to get married yet

Hmm...that's your family house...you will still have to move out to have yours..its still yours tho but you will have to move out when the time is right..

Your mum will have no choice than to just let you go..

That's life bro..

I hope I have contributed positively. smiley

@32, its totally your call to move out of your dad's house. As a man who's doing well financially, its not even expected that you'll still be in your father's house at this age. So if you feel moving out will give you the space you need to get certain things done, by all means, find your way out.

Btw, based on your dad's expectations from you, are you supposed to get married and brig your wife to live with you in the family house?

perfect response.

Op.
Go move out already, staying there impedes you. Even if it means renting a house. You and I know you won't stay there forever. Ofcourse you must always remember to go check your mum
