I need you to share your experience here. After building sites for clients, do you charge them a yearly maintenance fee or a monthly maintenance fee?
And which one is better?

over here at FR interactives, after building a website or web application for a client, we manage it free for one year afterthat period, if the client still wants us to manage their we charge most of them monthly and some yearly depends on their budget

Depends on their budget. If they can afford it annually, bi-annually or monthly.. It must have been stated in our Contract and signed after careful consideration..

What does post design maintenance involve pls?? And what range do u think a designer would charge for a responsive wordpress site after initial design?
