then, the mum will be 2 * y; that is 2y.
the dad's age will then be 2y + 5.
the total age put together is 100.

therefore, y + 2y + (2y+5) = 100
open the bracket: y + 2y + 2y + 5 = 100
5y = 100 - 5 = 95
5y = 95
divide both sides by 5
y = 19.

therefore, the girl, mum and dad ages are:
19, 38 and 43 respectively.

Make R subject of formula
R = D - 14.
