X+2x+(2x+5)=100
5x+5=100

This is called a word problem leading to algebraic equation in Mathema . tics. Solving the problem algebraically, you can deduce that girl's age is 19, her mum's age is 38 while her father's age is 43.
Let me show all workings here:
Let the girl's age = y/2, her mum's age = y and her father's age = y+ 5
Adding their ages : y/2 + y +(y+5) = 100
Taking the LCM : y+ 2y+ 2y+10 = 200
Collecting like terms : 5y= 190
ie y = 19 , meaning the girl's age is 19 years.
You get her parents ages by simple arithmetic.

X+y+z = 100
(Express all in terms of x)

X + (x/2) + (x+5) = 100
(Clearing all denominators)

2x + x + 2x + 10 = 200
5x + 10 = 200
5x = 200 - 10
5x = 190
X = 38 (mother's age)
Daughter's age is half = 19
Dad is mother's plus 5 = 43
