It was here on nairaland I actually learned that there are legitimate reasons to cheat.

Regarding the double standart, my ire erupted on this thread when I saw the same people bashing women for being murdered yesterday - the victim, bashing women for cheating on men - being the ones victimizing. So for these people, women ARE ALWAYS WRONG, EVEN AS SLAIN VICTIMS. This is wrong and disgusting. Moreover, when not encouraged, cheating by men is tolerated and the wife, once again blamed in Africa. ENOUGH WITH THAT!

Now the domestic violence, this man was arrested for assaulting her several times he even had a restraining order against him. I see this smear campaign on youtube as the prolongation of emotional abuse that started long ago. He is clearly a depiscable person and no saint.

In as much as I believe cheating is part of the game, and subconsciously, everyone (both male and female) going into a relationship/marriage, or in one, should always expect it - I don't think there are legitimate reasons to cheat. It's normal for folks to cheat cos that's part of the imperfection that makes us human. However, legitimising an imperfection is problematic.

I don't think anyone is worked up on the thread...I think it has more to do with the shock-value of how brazen naij women condone cheating these days, when folks have been lied to that Africa women are the most decent/cultured women out there.
