namdo:Before the election was slated for Feb 14, do you think that it was without due consultations? Jega was simply boxed to a corner, he has the constitutional right to defer the election but he has never come out to say he wishes to, when the NSA says he cannot guarantee security for election materials, what do you expect Jega to do? It is like refusing to pay security bills in your compound and armed robbers come knocking on your door. Jega's fear is that the military themselves will remove their uniforms and snatch election materials if he goes ahead with the elections. Don't you think Jega knows he will leave by march 24th reason he agreed to Feb14/28? How many standing army does Nigeria have? How many are drafted to foreign missions? How many are fighting boko haram? If you don't have the answers to the above, then you have been fooled like most Nigerians. |

Seun:Oga, are you pro-APC? Hope u're aware that Buhari's govt (if he wins) won't allow your Nairaland to remain neutral to political issues, otherwise they will force you to close it down. |

I cannot begin to fathom the depths of depravity our society has descended to. A democratically elected president is going through a step by step plan to manipulate elections and all the vast majority can do is 'hail' him for being such a 'genius' and applaud the move as a master stroke. Are we so warped that our morals are now non-existent even in the face of glaring fraud and abuse of office? And some here will still claim to be devout followers of their respective faiths at every given opportunity. How does this bode well for our democracy or the peace and stability of the nation? His actions just smack of sheer desperation, and that is the type that plunges nations into chaos. Truly it's disappointing ![]() |

Tonylyte:/ It is the North because they did social study of Nigeria and found out what works. Power is not handed out easily in s plater of gold. Igbo people tried peacefully through MASSOB and got annihilated. SS borrowed from the North, tried the same thing and got rewarded. Igbo people sit in Nigeria today wallowing in wishful thinking that after some years, other ethnicities will call and hand over the presidency to them. I tell them--dream on. Igbo people are finished politically in Nigeria. That's all. And it shall remain so for a very long time as long as they keep attaching emotions and sentiments into politics instead of their interests. |

InvertedHammer:Lol, we are suffering this very thing u are talking about. The south southerners unfortunately got there, it is not that they were strategies put in place to achieve such height. Calculate the numbers of years spent by each of the zones and see that every zone, except the north are suffering from marginalisation. |

I just can't stop loving this man's pattern of politics cos he is wise enough to play this game and not force his way into the game. This is politics and not some sort of traditional leadership and in it, it does not matter how many cards u have but how to play those cards to win moreover, som1 must win while another must loose. Obj played his cards with blackmails, yaradua was the rule of law, GEJ is by constitution while Gmb is trying to play force and imposition with ostensible sentiments but thank God for GEJ who has opened the eyes of Nigerians to know better. Every 1 know that boko boys shall flee if GEJ wins and dats why they r fighting cat an dog but good shall always win against evil GEJ4life.... |

Jarus:end of. if Jonathan had tackled BH, the international community would have looked the other way for the 'greater good'. his incompetence and cynical manipulations have let BH metastasise from a small gang of hoodlums into a force holding territory within nigeria. oil may have been a bargaining chip, but that has changed the only thing the international community needs from nigeria right now is the elimination of BH on top of that, he is in bed with thugs who have kidnapped and held western nationals for ransom. they are just waiting for him |

Jonathan will be daft to let an obviously bias Jega to conduct this election with all the mechanism he has obviously put in place to tilt the table to favour his fellow Northern brother. The PVC collection actually climaxed the whole plan and exposed his bias. How do you explain war torn States nearing 90% of PVC collection while INEC is struggling to achieve half of that in the south especially in Jonathan's strongholds the SS and SE, I thought they said these regions were irrelevant, why the added effort to disenfranchise them and pretending that elections can still go on like Jonathan is a fool. Send the guy to retirement and replace him with an unbiased umpire, Jega has already fallen to the stong tribal politics of Nigeria, he can not deny these facts as they are so glaring. |

I'm very sorry for Nigeria, the name Mimiko alone is destructive; this very Nazim Mimiko has been the VC of AAUA since the inception of his very elder brother Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, as the governor of Ondo State and since the nomenclature surfaced in the state every working system has stopped working and an impediment was introduced into all the sectors, since then nothing good has never sprung out the state and now Nigeria my beloved country wants to witness the same metamorphosis for worst, Jega is far better compared to this destructive machinery. God in your care I put all concerning me. |

agabaI23:thanks for the mention...God bless that man because he understands the real meaning of "integrity" & morality. GEJ if this appointment comes to fruition will have taught many braggarts so much political lesson... I love PDP not because they're perfect or have done so well but they acknowledge their imperfections hence such people are teachable and actually can learn, unlearn and relearn... But these APC guys claim saints even with all available records on them stinking... Worse of it all, is the recycling of buhari as change in a digital age...You can't teach or criticize such people because they wont listen. All they desire is power... Let them start their change with implementation of FOI in their flagship states of Lagos, Oyo etc. Also, They seem to believe so much in debts(borrowings). Mind you; I am not against borrowings per say but if states like Anambra can run for 8years under Obi and even succeeding government without debts but more savings notwithstanding the intimidating developmental records; What is Rochas Imo state, Fashola Lagos, Aregbesola Osun etc doing with neck breaking debts ![]() |

Was'nt it the same jEGA who was chairman in 2011 when GEJ and GMB still contested for President? Why didn't he rig the election then? PDP knew they were going to lose and anyway still lose. |

donpeey22:/ If you want something to be done right, you have to do it yourself. The interests of Igbo people are not protected under GEJ Q.E.D. Neither will it be protected under GMB. Igbo people have backed themselves to the wall where they are forced to choose the lesser of two evils. A beggar has no choice. And one would think as the main part of the tripod, they should play key roles. \ |

In comparison with Jonathan's government, I can boldly state that Jonathan's government protects the interests of the igbos more than his predecessors. You are entitled to your opinion anyway. |

profjustine458:I think this where I have to say: Nigerians deserve the hell they are living in. It is just so pathetic how Jega is being accused of being an APC supporter. What has the man done? He has brought us PVC, all in a bid to ensure a free and fair election, something GEJ is desperately trying to botch. Removing JEGA, is not the aim, the game plan is to allow the use of TVC (Temporary Voter's Card), which will afford GEJ the rigging opportunity He so wants. |
