I was about objecting when I forced myself to recheck the past question I thought I saw simple present (3rd person singular)/ present perfect, and then I realized I had, in the first place, checked wrongly...

It is actually simple present (3rd person plural)/ present perfect i.e "sell/has" (Jamb past question, page 146, no. 72)

But if you were very conversant with the topics: Energy and Power; and Cost of Electrical Energy, you would notice that "Joule is too small as a unit for dealing with the energy demands of households and commercial ventures", so PHCN doesn't use Joule. They use a large unit instead, i.e the Kilowatt-hour (KWh)



Your calculation is based on the SI unit Joule. Mine is KWh. If I converted mine to Joule I would get the same answer as the above.

If you read the question closely you'll see that its context is about non-luminous heat produced.
