The chairman of Okada Association should appreciate the fact that less accidents are being recorded in states where Okadas are banned from operating, especially on major highways. Most of the Okada riders do not know what is called highway codes and thereby resulting to fatal crashes simply because of miscommunication between the car drivers and Okada riders.

On the other hand, Governor Fashola should have adopted what is called "parallel change over system" when he was promoting the bill that banned Okadas from operating on the highways, sometimes I wonder why he was very successful at implementing the law that bans Okadas and yet still struggling to curtail the excesses of OMONILES (Landowners) in Lagos state. The Omoniles are complete menace to the society, they reap where they have not sown. Yet, the Governor is aware of this and he seems to be nonchallant about it. Also, the Agberos are another nuisance that he has failed to control in the state and he behaves like he is not aware of the issues.

The fact is that Nigerians are getting wiser and the status quo is changing day by day. Some of the polices do not have human face, thereby rubbishing the good works that have been done. This should serve as a lesson to other incoming governors to critically study a policy by understanding its consequences before implementation. May God heal Nigeria!

As in ehhh, I am not really against banning of Okada but they should make provisions for the common man. Give us good roads and you will be surprised how people will dump okada for other means of transportation.

They have suffered those guys enough, you give out okada during campaign, then mandatory helmet, uniforms and tickets and then you ban them.
Story for god of okada

Bad way of thinking... What do you mean by the "common man"huh Good roads or not the population of some states are too many especially lagos.. Okada must be banned nationwide and the citizens must learn to hold the local, state and federal govt ransom to provide basic amenities...
My dear I stay in lagos too an I have seen things for myself. As of November last year, I stayed in traffic more than 3hrs just from Cele to Airport road that normally takes less than 15 minutes just because of potholes at Ilasa. People don't have any choice than to look for bike. In fact just go to Alaba international mkt and you will cry at the poor state of roads there.

People queue to board BRT not just because the fare but because once it's filled up, you will get to your destination without delay.

If you read my post very well you will notice I'm not against banning of Okada but at least they make good provision of roads and other means of transportation.

the people should protest to state and federal govts. Okada has ended careers, lives e.t.c. Nigeria won't improve if people keep quiet. At least, people can snap pictures of the bad roads and send it to blogs and the media...

Motorcycle dealers, you guys got to adapt. The only thing constant in the universe is change. And that's why we got to be flexible. We got a lot of security challenges in the country, and hence the ban, just bear with it.... And don't blame the government for your predicament.

We must not always attack and blame the government all the time.
Small time if there is constant electricity,Generator dealers will also start their own protest.

Comparing the population of Lagos state to Anambra, the difference is very clear. Security in Lagos is more severe due to population and diverse in ethnicity n tribe. But in Anambra, they are more of family, same tribe n culture, hence, insecurity is less.
Also, rate of accident from this okada riders is very huge, many have been severely injured and so many have died.
We just need to be objective here, besides, okadas as a commercial transportion was only banned on highways and not in inner roads/streets.

This okada association guy is a fool. He said anambra is d safest state. How? Where was okija located sef. Safe how. Instead of focusing on how to develop Ur state u will b thinking of how to vote out lagos governor. That is why u wont find ur PVC. See trips o. its simple carry, ur okada biz to ur village and do it therre afterall lagos and southwest states aint ur fadasland. How many yorubas have u seen protesting okadas. He needs to have a rethink. Crime rate and deathrate has reduced drastically after d okada ban and it wil b banned again.if lagos is not suitable for u go to ur village.we in lagos are happy with the new look of lagos and d truth is dat even if pdp enters they cant manage d development in lagos so carry ur confused and parochial govt of Utaba affairs to ur village.

Believe me bro lagos is a big complicated state. Its not as easy as u think. I doubt if ambode will b able to even perform up to fashola cuz he may not be able to give in the stress and sacrifice fashola put in. U know what it is lyk practically monitoring almost every project to make sure that the funds are not emblezzled. From infrastructure to even traffic. And the guys still cakes out time to travel out to research how it is done in oda countries. Dont think any governor can devote that much sacrifice to work in lagos.
