As you all know, I am an ardent supporter of APC. I have been here for a long time but left nairaland and came back recently due to this election. I just watched the interview on NTA and from what I saw and heard from Jonathan this evening, I can authoritatively say Jonathan had a good intention coming in but lost his way by listening to certain elements he surrounds himself with. I saw a man who has fear of losing this election. I saw a man who is afraid of the unknown. I saw a man who is ready to fight and not ready to go down without taking someone down with him. I saw a President who regrets a lot of things being said about him (True and untrue). I saw a President who has been misguided and ill-advised by the likes of Edwin Clark, Asari, Tompolo, Oritsejafor and others. I saw a president who cannot make his own decision. I saw a president who is looking for ways to do something within the next six weeks so he can win souls and minds of Nigerians and the world. I saw a man who is not comfortable in his own skin. I saw a President who will rather have Amaechi and Kwakwanso on his side today than have them as foes. I saw a President who is desperate to make amends. I believe this president should have paid more attention to the electorates from the onset of his administration. Nigerians who voted for him into power in 2011 are not ready to give him another chance. The country just want to try something else. I believe the voters are ready to vote for a doll or a cat ahead of Jonathan on March 28. |

sincerenigerian:He should man up and take responsibility for his actions. If he hasn't the nous to pick credible and efficient lieutenants, associates and playmates it must mean he really has issues. A leader must have a combination of atrributes, such as discerning great or flawed character. If such associates have damaged the public perception of him what has he done to redeem himself? Would he rather keep his cronnies happy than the generality of the people? Why the need to pardon convicted felons to the chagrin of the citizenry and what message does that send to the electorate? Sycophants would always mill around success and riches. It is the duty of those in great positions to see beyond the audience. Time's up i'm afraid. |

olu77:the first mistake he made is,we voted him as president not clark and his inglorious bastards like okupe, omokri and co...why should he let them control the government?does he not understand the word discretion? That is why we named him clueless..secondly,we voted him because he said he had no shoes that he clearly understands what poverty is..does he now?the rate our money is being siphoned is alarming..even ibb own isn't as bad as this the same goes for abacha...he is a weakling only good at intimidating nigerians with the military..I wonder where he got them from because they were all suppose to be at the war front facing boko haram..the way they said it that they won't have soldiers to protect nigerians during election,I was thinking all soldiers should be at tHe war front so where does he get the ones he intimidate our elders with? |

My 2 cents. He should forget about re-election, gather a team of international investigators in finance, find the money trail, find out who stole what, where and when in his administration ,arrest them and finally start prosecuting. That is the only way for him to rehabilitate himself |

oduastates:If you believe that then I'm afraid you really don't understand what is going on. Would he prosecute his wife as well and possibly himself? Forget good manism, corruption is at the heart of this presidency. By the way @OP, we said Yar Adua was a good man as well and sure he was ill, but let us be honest, that was one of the most unproductive presidencies Nigeria has ever had in it's history. It is not about being a "good man". |

SkyBlue1:True that.It also goes to show you how bad that of GEJ has been. For sane(I always use this word because many sycophants here are insane) Nigerians to believe that Yar'Aduas inactivity and obasanjo's executive recklessness and corruption are far better than what we have now,and rightly so,just goes to show gej's regime is horribly terrible! |

doctokwus:For me comparing both presidencies is apple and oranges, especially since it seems practically nothing happened in Yar Adua's administration and let us not be so quick to forget Aondoaka, Turai, and that terrible INEC chairman we had in that tenure. Jonathan on the other hand has been able to do a few things, my issue is the advance does not justify the resources that were available to him. I really do believe if Abacha had this ammount of money at his disposal we would have been more developed!!! Jonathan has had more money at his disposal than ANY OTHER Nigerian presidency, and his presidency has also been the most corrupt and unecessarily divisive. And what is worse is he seems to be supporting the corruption and divisiveness and misrule. Just look at the role his wife has been playing in the Rivers State turmoil. Our senses have never been so assaulted by multiple scandals of such magnitude finance and flagrant abuse of power and sychophancy all mixed into one unholy stream in such a short space of time. And considering the good will that brought him in as well. . . And even with all that money, we now have little to no savings from the good years and we are now in debt and in trouble with the plunge in oil prices. |

Bros you dey on your own oo. As for me, I saw an extremely divisive, intolerant, frightened, lying, conniving, clueless, despotic, disillusioned, and hypocritical president. Period. |
