davidylan:It was proposed using the facts discovered about disease.....disease wasn't caused by "evil spirits" but tiny micro-organisms...this was greatly researched to provide the comprehension called germ theory... And evolution has been documented numerous times, from the speciation of ring species to the development of organs by some reptiles in response to environmental pressures, etc. In sincerity what is it about evolution that makes you act as though it threatens your belief?... You and I both know(biologically speaking) two individuals could never re-populate a species(without the lose of vigour and harmful mutations) And you also should know the fossil record and methods used to determine lineages(like the hardy weinberg equation) are used to determine our relatives,so what isn't empirical about that? 3 Likes |

davien:I speak the truth, whether bitter or sweet. The guy is concerned about the future and he needed to hear where he will end up. I didn't intend to threaten him, I only wanted to help him find answers to his questions. So yes he is going to Hell if he doesn't repent and if doesn't like his future he could change it by repenting. |

All this silly talk of "existential issues" is nothing but an attempt to escape your fear of Hell. The truth, you have no where to run to, for you have chosen Hell and Hell you shall go. There is no escape so stop deceiving yourself and face the reality. |

ooman: you've unwittingly exposed the weakness of CMBR being evidence for the BB and the laughable unseriousness of plaetton's claims. First, if indeed CMBR was unquestioningly evidence of the BB, do you think anyone would be speculating about other alternatives? Its like knowing the exact value of acceleration due to gravity and then wasting time trying to prove it could also be 2. Secondly, the idea plaetton put forward came from a "reputable" atheist site (so you cant claim christians are trying to make things up). Surely they know about CMBR? why are they skeptical enough about it to propound another theory? |

Re: Newsflash!! Forget Bigbang, Forget Creationism, The Universe Had No Begining. by Nobody: 2:10am On Feb 13, 2015 |
plaetton: you havent been thinking this through at all. the BB theory claims it took a spark to set the universe off... this theory predicts that the earth/universe had no begining at all... i.e. no spark was required whatsoever. So the two sentences you have up there make no sense. |

Lemme see, from the first paragraph article in op: And y'all are blabbing about how BB is now being proposed as being wrong. I wonder how much more I'd spot if I bothered to read a few more paragraphs, hmm? BTW, you surely cannot tell me that as a scientist, you do not know of concepts like say effective theories? davidylan: Perhaps the model will have another purpose/cause for CMBR. I didn't say anyone was making anything up. Am only suggesting we should have observational evidence before propagating such model. Am sure the pope will have headache after hearing of this, considering he just recently endorsed BB. He is not be the first pope to do so, anyway. 1 Like |
Re: Newsflash!! Forget Bigbang, Forget Creationism, The Universe Had No Begining. by Nobody: 6:49am On Feb 13, 2015 |
wiegraf: basically the same old verbal diarrhea and nothing of substance. You highlighted the word "complement"... i'm assuming you think the idea being propagated by the blog is claiming this is a "complement" to the BB? Which makes zero sense as they absolutely do not reference the BB at all in the sentence you quoted. Last i checked, the theory of relativity is not equivalent to the BB in any way, shape or form. Like Plaetton, it seems you have not read the article in sufficient detail as to actually understand it. The BB as a theory claims that the universe began at a particular point, the idea the blog puts forward is that the universe never had a beginning... i'm not sure how one complements the other. The very title of the blog is this - No Big Bang? Quantum equation predicts universe has no beginning... basically indicating that both are mutually exclusive. But of course... when you're confused, simply post as many curse words as you know. Your post is an embarrassment to any 5 yr old with a brain. |
Re: Newsflash!! Forget Bigbang, Forget Creationism, The Universe Had No Begining. by Nobody: 6:52am On Feb 13, 2015 |
ooman: I agree... which is why you may understand my strong opposition to the BB. There is no observational evidence outside of desperate projections to support it. As i said earlier, if there was strong evidence for it, why would people be looking for alternatives? lol the pope endorses the BB and that makes it right? The pope also endorses the idea of heaven, you also believe that too? |
Re: Newsflash!! Forget Bigbang, Forget Creationism, The Universe Had No Begining. by ooman(m): 7:06am On Feb 13, 2015 |
davidylan: I didn't make reference to the pope to prove or disprove BB. I made reference to him because this new theory is a [new] slap on his face. I think inflation (expanding universe) and CMBR are enough empirical data for BB. Though I knew the BB model doesn't have all the answer, I accepted it because of CMBR, it even showed us how the universe was when it was 300,000 years old. Now we are supposed to throw those data away? People look for alternative to solve problems unsolved by general relativity. But considering that GR has stood the test of time, at least up till now, I will stick with it a little longer. 1 Like |

Re: Newsflash!! Forget Bigbang, Forget Creationism, The Universe Had No Begining. by ooman(m): 7:28am On Feb 13, 2015 |
plaetton: It does has some say on bigbang and post bibang scenario. From the article: In addition to not predicting a Big Bang singularity, the new model does not predict a "big crunch" singularity, either. In general relativity, one possible fate of the universe is that it starts to shrink until it collapses in on itself in a big crunch and becomes an infinitely dense point once again. It even removes the possibility of the big crunch, as suggested by relativity. So it doesn't just hint something on bigbang, it also removes big crunch, a post bigbang event, from the list of outcomes. If you study the artist's representation of the universe according to the new model, you'd realize it proposes a flat but open and at the same time, expanding universe. Does this make sense? |
