Boko Haram insurgents on Thursday's morning attacked two villages in Borno state,killing at least 21 people.

The villages attacked are Mbuta and Alkideow both situated at the central part of in Mafa L.G.A,Borno state.

According to a military source,the sect members invaded the villages on motorcycles and shot people sporadically.

“They started shooting at fleeing residents after set­ ting houses ablaze at Mbuta and later proceeded to the nearest village of Alkideow to wreck more
havoc."

According to Ali Mustapha, a member of youth vigilante group, the insurgents were more than 12 in number.They attacked the villages around 4:30am and continued their attack till day break.He went ahead to say that the military were not informed on time.

May the souls of all those who lost their lives in the attack rest in peace,Amen.­
