I am an economics student in a Nigerian university but I have this passion for accounting but never as much had a good background on it. But I still have this dream of becoming a chartered accountant. Pls Senior colleagues how do i start-up a seperate line on acounting? What are the first steps?

Just start wit ATS,u do three stages den u do ur induction,then u start d professional one,i think about 2stage..den u become chartered #bt it requires hardwork and commitment ... Am also an economic student,,and have started ATS..wish u much luck

U start wit ATS which has 3 stage I.e ATS 1,2 & 3 and each stage comprise of 4 subjeçts. ATS exam is march & september evry year. The dirst tin to do is to register wit ICAN. U purchase d reg. pin from any commercial bank and proceed with online registration havin gotten a chartered accountant as ur referee.

If you are almost in your final year, you can just wait till you finish. Then you get exemptions.
