Amb. Rufus Akeju, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, says any voter caught with fake Permanent Voter Card during the general elections will be prosecuted.

Akeju, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria in Ibadan on Sunday, vowed that INEC would not allow any form of rigging during the elections.

“Any voter who is thinking of voting with a fake PVC during the general elections should shelve the idea now because doing so would land them in jail,” he said.

NAN reports that the presidential and National Assembly elections would hold on March 28 while those of governorship and state Houses of Assembly had been slated for April 11.

The INEC boss also said mechanisms had been put in place by the commission to check rigging and ensure credible elections.

“For example, it impossible for anybody to steal ballot papers in the name of rigging because there cannot be more than 750 ballot papers in any polling unit,” he said.

Akeju also said that a total of 1,563,800 PVCs had been distributed by INEC in the state.

My question is "How do you intend to identify fake voters card?" From what I know, it takes approximately 5hours to accredit voters before they're being able to vote.

Not until Nigeria develop an electronic system of voting, the current voting system would continue to fail citizens.

this development is not in favor of APC because i know they have gathered bundles of fake PVCs to amass vote unto themselves!!
In few days time, you'll hear APC blaming or accusing Jega of sth he's not responsible for, because Jega has just spoiled their plan!
