Some of us were babies when obj and co fought to keep this country as one. When a child calls his elders motor park touts one begin to wonder if that child is responsible. Obj ask gej vital question in his hilltop home when gej took oyedepo and adeboye to go and beg baba. Till date gej has not responded to those aligations. One of them that got me worried was the one he now gave the importation of military weapon to tompolo and asari dokubo there by religating our military to a pupet. No right thinking person will support the impunity going on in this country under this regime. Imagine a defense headquaters calling obj a disgrace. Miliary abide by code of conduct and the leave a regimental life style. It is an abomination for them to attack a fellow army general in that fashion. The implication is that we now ve a highly politicised military. This only means danger for the country

Thief Obasanjo sold off all the oil blocks in Nigeria, why was only $35bn left in our reserves when he left office?

This criminal must never be allowed head any office again.
APC needs to set up a parallel government without delay.

My brother. I think Buhari has compromised to the International banking cartel. This Buhari is not the same Buhari of the 70's. Just checkout the kind of people he is surrounding himself with. As for Jonathan, the International banking cartel is done with him, and will toss him over. Bottom line is things will get worst for the average/ordinary Nigerians. The sufferings will reach it zenith, never ever in the history of this country have we experienced such. The plans by the International banking/Aka White supremacist power structure to destabilize and breakup Nigeria is finally done. The time to act is now.

Hmm.. Obj is now being demonised by his party simply because he criticized them. Obj is not perfect, but his sin obviously is that he pointed out flaws in his party and the way Nigeria is being run under the leadership of a party he was a core founding member.
Obasanjo remains the greatest asset of the PDP till date.

OBJ singularly supported GEJ to be President when the Northerners wanted to deprive him of the position while Chief Anenih and all the present PDP backers and GEJ himself ran for cover when the military brought Yaradua back in the NIGHT.

OBJ singularly went to meet the family of the Boko Haram leader at the risk of his life and later advised GEJ, knowing fully well that GEJ's failure will be ascribed to him. GEJ responded that he is not a General when OBJ warned him to deal decisively with Boko Haram, at their initial stages.

He is standing true to what he believes, shaming people whom he supported and have failed to perform.well if Pdp didn't want more drama Gej shouldn't have arm twisted the security agencies and Inec. How can security agency choose when to provide security? too risky. Chief Obasanjo was bold enough to tear his PDP's membership card openly but there are so many other top Party nembers who will, without the knowledge of Jonathan, destroy theirs in secret.

Nigerians hate the truth and i believe that those rogues around GEJ who are insulting OBJ today will also be the ones to hail him tomorrow.is there any reason given by OBJ for taken such a decision that is not true? No one bites the fingers that fed him and go scotfree. It is very sad and disheartening to hear the same Fani Kayode who was made minister twice under Obasanjo calling his former benefactor unprintable names. OBJ was pushed to the war by Jonathan , his loose mad dogs and the unpardonable looting by the GEJ group.OBJ tried his best to assist GEJ but the latter had greed on his mind. All of them castigating Obj will still work for him .

Jonathanians should be ashamed of themselves ,after the comical show of bravado and heaps of insults they mounted on OBJ ,their principal now turns around to send governors including some that contributed why Jonathan failed to go and plead on his behalf,if these people were humans, they should realize that they have been humiliated. Okupe and Reuben Abati have also lost credibility because all the defense they put up was rubbished by this visit. Jonathan ebele knows were the shoe pinches him that is why he is sending people to beg OBJ.

As shown on TV, Its the PDP ward chairman of ward 11 that tore the membership card of Chief Obasanjo. Though he was asked to do it, he should have refused due to respect for his party, but he joyfully tore it. Its symbolic that PDP ward chairman has no respect for their party .OBJ has done the right thing. you don't know the importance of what you have until it is lost.

Please let's look beyond the surface before reaching conclusions. PDP is therefore finished just like APGA died after Ojukwu`s death...even GEJ knows it himself.

Change is coming.

OBJ CORE FOUNDING MEMBER OF PDP FROM PRISON? SEE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING, WHO WILL HAIL HIM LATER? OBASANJO DID IT BEECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT PDP WILL SUSPEND HIM SOON, I COULD REMEMBER THAT MANY MEMBERS OF PDP ARE SAYING IT AND HE KNOWS WHAT THEY WILL DO, THE NEXT THING HE DECIDED TO TEAR HIS MEMBERSHIP CARD TO AVOID EMBARRASMENT, HE'S A NOBODY

Ptimes:
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party has expressed sadness over former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s decision, Monday, to dump the party.
Mr. Obasanjo announced his resignation from the party at a dramatic meeting where he ordered his party membership card be shredded.
PDP officials had earlier condemned the act, with the secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees, Walid Jibrin, saying Mr. Obasanjo acted irresponsibly.
The chairman of the board, Tony Anenih, said the former leader will not be missed by the party.
In its official statement, signed by spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, the PDP said it was “saddened” by Mr. Obasanjo’s departure, and lamented the party’s inability to pacify the former president after several pleas.

[b]Read full Statement below:

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has received the news of the decision of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to withdraw his membership of our great party. We have also carefully examined the circumstances and the reasons adduced for this unfortunate decision.
While we concede to the inalienable rights of every citizen to hold opinion and to decide who to associate with, we are however deeply saddened that Chief Obasanjo, a revered leader of our party, our first Presidential flagbearer whom the PDP offered the platform to rule our nation for eight years, could decide to abandon this party at this critical point in time.

This is especially as Chief Obasanjo, who was also the Chairman of the highest advisory organ of the PDP, the Board of Trustees (BoT) discountenanced all pleas by elders and leaders of our great party with regard to his reservations on certain issues within our fold.

Many Nigerians are still bewildered as to what manner of provocation could have led a former President to lose his composure and go to the extent of tearing the membership card of the party that he once led.

Indeed, the PDP is hugely at loss as to how the decision and action of the former President who had enjoyed the benefits of being elected to the highest position of leadership will assist in deepening our democracy and stabilizing the polity.
It is our considered opinion that no matter the provocation, a statesmanly disposition from a person of Chief Obasanjo’s status could have encouraged our citizens and help in stabilizing system.

We believe however, that what this country needs now is patriotic actions that engender national unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence of our people irrespective of political, ethnic and religious
persuasions. The overall interest of our nation and wellbeing of our citizens must remain paramount and above all personal and group interests.

Finally, we direct all our members across the country to remain focused on our campaigns and not to be distracted on this issue. With an array of credible candidates led by our Presidential flagbearer, President Goodluck Jonathan, we are sure that we will emerge victorious come March 28 and April 11, 2015 general elections.

while i feel OBJ descended abysmally to a state that was least expected of a former ruler on whose fortune he ran the govt of this country, i feel the messenger shouldn't be condemned rather the message he tried conveying shouldn't be treated with kids gloves.
he has come hard on the present government in power and has raised vital reasons of note that concerns the common man. it saddens me when PDP led government potrays during campaign that all is well with campaign gimmicks that our country is the best in africa with least impact on the fortunes of the common man even in the face of insecurity and massive corruption that may kill Nigeria in the words of GMB. The PDP led government has suddenly turn itself to an opposition party with renewed propagandas targeted at GMB despite been in power even as many make clamour for change. There has been unwarranted name callings and tantrums of late.

If GEJ were proud of his achievements, he should come on air or social media with his achievements to boost his chances for re-election. his advisers have done him more harm than good in selling him. he shouldn't be the one clamouring for a debate from the opposition even as i condemn the non participation of the opposition.

Campaigns should be issue based and this name callings must stop because as soon as elections are over, cross carpeting would always be.

GEJ should strongly consider the reasons for the grieviance of ebora owu and see how he can best lead this nation if given another chance even though Obasanjo can't be exonerated from the mess this country has gotten into.

Sometimes I begin to wonder how OBJ who at his age suppose to be a father, adviser, and a role model, but turning himself into a ....... I thought at his age, he should be non-partisan, serves as a bridge btw the two contending parties. I expected his advice at this time the International community is Predicting a possible crisis in our dear country. I thought before this time the likes of Obj (and other former heads of state) would be having series of meetings trying to calm the nerves of some aggrieved people but the reverse is the case.

Pdp has failed. Jonathan has obviously showed us that he's a regional leader. South west Nigeria is woefully neglected. In 2011, Nigerians vote for him en masse but he selectively play regional politics instead of Nigerians collectively. In 2015, we are wiser and will never be brain washed by pdp hocus pocus

Vote for change. Gaskiya, Buhari and Oshinbajo

Good question you've asked. The answer is grab the bull by the horn.

We need a grassroots revolution that will cut across all ethnic groups and tribes. Something ssimilar to Fidel Castro kinda revolution who will wrestle power from this puppet masters. Anything short of that, won't solve our problem.

free2ryhme:
Obasanjo remains the greatest asset of the PDP till date. All GEJ had been doing within the last six years have been embellishments of all what Obasanjo administration started while in collaboration with Diezani, who has appointed and sacked 5NNPC MD's in 5years, concentrated on looting the nation dry through income diversion and crude oil sales. Given their occupation of the National Income pipe, they allowed their PDP goons a widespread space for internal corruption and looting.
OBJ's PDP gave Nigeria GSM and brought telephone for the poor that was previously for the rich according to David Mark in the early 90s, OBJ structured the payment of our national debts in excess of $45billion from the little average crude Oil prices of less than $80 per barrel, even when crude prices fell to $9.00 per barrel during the OBJ's administration, our exchange rate was not affected negatively, OBJ introduced EFCC, Improved Nigeria's International image after the killing of Saro Wiwa, made fuel available without subsidy corruption, Started the commercialisation of Nepa to PHCN and paid 25% funds out of the fake $16billion scam through Dr Iweala which was now commissioned by GEJ as his project, started the Cassava for bread initiative and other agric projects and the reactivation of the Rails, created massive employment in banking communication, gas, oil manufacturing etc, gave Nigeria a vibrant middle class with improved banking with car leases and other structured products and the capital market prior to the global depression which was better managed by Professor Soludo, dealt with the Sharia riots with wisdom which eventually showed the foolishness of its Northern sponsors and many others.
OBJ singularly supported GEJ to be President when the Northerners wanted to deprive him of the position while Chief Anenih and all the present PDP backers and GEJ himself ran for cover when the military brought Yaradua back in the NIGHT. OBJ single-handedly used his money to visit Saudi Arabia to see the incapacitated Yaradua and confronted the North and supported that Nigeria can only be one when individuals from every zone, could have access to the number one position in the land. OBJ's fight with GEJ is due to the unpardonable looting by the GEJ group.
We must give credit to GEJ for building and extending on OBJ's programmes with the relative application of his education. This the Northern cabal wanted to work against, through the instigation of Yaradua to rubbish Baba OBJ's programmes. GEJ did more with the Nigerianisation of the oil sector. Most of his partially successful programmes such as roads, bridges and health were by SureP which came about as a result of the subsidy riot. One is then tempted to ask the Ministers, what their yearly budgets were expended upon and Diezani about the 3 refineries she promised will be on stream in three years. Stealing and Corruption Incorporated while their is massive poverty and unemployment in the land, youth induced crime
OBJ tried his best to assist GEJ but the latter had greed on his mind. OBJ singularly went to meet the family of the Boko Haram leader at the risk of his life and later advised GEJ, knowing fully well that GEJ's failure will be ascribed to him. GEJ responded that he is not a General or King David when Baba warned him to deal decisively with Boko Haram, at their initial stages. Baba also talked about the official stealing of crude and the diversion of our national patrimony. GEJ and his cohorts came out to abuse the old man. Nigerians have now vindicated OBJ with the very terrible state of the Government finances with exchange rate as high as N213 to a US dollar from N155 within 3 months.
In one of our discussions with a Nigerian Brigadier General in New York, he postulated that the present military is different from the military of the 80s and 90s. The reason he gave is that the youthful soldiers are all on the internet and that when he sent one his junior orderlies to sensitise on their refusal to confront Boko Haram. The Orderly was told that the Soldier boys were not ready to fight for a country with such official leadership stealing and looting.
In sum, GEJ's second term would have been a cup of tea had GEJ capitalised on his Goodwill by working genuinely for the Nigerian people. A million OBJ's would not have been able to stop him for a second term. GEJ has a right to change his mind if he had performed and not looted.

The APC is a not better in terms of corruption because corruption is corruption whatever the guise since they say theirs was restricted to percentages on projects. Tinubu's is more scientific as he does contracts with his Governments and also earns professional fees on his tax services. This is however much better than stealing from the National income like our Ogas at the TOP.

The APC heard the yearnings of the masses and was smart enough and discovered that the only way to reach Nigerians was to look for that hard incorruptible Nigerian in the person of a Buhari to save the nation. Buhari is like a Tiger when corruption is involved because he could end up eating any of his riders. Even OBJ acknowledged it to some people that he does not believe that Buhari would not arrest him if he should cross the corruption line. OBJ tore his card to remove the PDP leprosy mark on his body.PDP is therefore finished even GEJ knows it himself.

In sum, when Nigeria had Global problems in 1999, a General in the person of OBJ was brought out from prison to rescue Nigeria. Nigeria today is on the brink and Nigeria needs an incorruptible General before corruption kills the nation and the exchange rate rises top N1,000 to one US dollar. Had Idiagbon being alive today, there would have been no Buhari.
