Recently have been noticing this delay with my tranny most times

Let's say am moving out and reversing out of my car park , from reverse i switch to drive at least i give it 1-2 secs, then i depress my gas pedal then it takes an extra 2-3 secs b4 it selects by then i get a kind of bang because of the rev, apart from this delay everything works normal, it changes smooth

i scanned no codes

atf is checked too

a)Do a scan for pending codes not permanent codes. Also, do a live scan.
b) put some drops of your transmission atf on white paper, and see if its due for servicing. i hope you used the recommended atf to service your car the last time.
c) check your transmission dipstick to see if its properly guaged.
d) check your transmission mounts.

What car are we talking about and when last did you change your ATF?

Your primary ATF pump could be failing hence it is taking time to build up ATF pressure when you shift gears. This is usually as a result of dirty or degenerated ATF. Normally, this fault won't put out any codes or trigger a CEL depending on the model/year of the car in question.

Failing pump will affect all gears - forward, reverse, overdrive, etc.

a N ->R shift should take about 1.5 seconds for you to feel the shock. We may be looking at a case of reverse clutch failure. I am not in any way an expert, but I have some experience.

1. Don't do anything unless you are ready to replace the transsmission.

2. Drain transmission fluid

3. Replace or wash strainer(filter) inside gearbox

4. Replace oil with dw1

5. Hope for the best.

6. If everything does not work remember number (1.)
