Until we went to Russia and Ukraine, which U.S has no power over.. Nigeria couldn't secure some weapons to combat the hi-tech weapons of BH.

Secondly, in the last 6 yrs.. Neither border nations joined the fight.. Now we have Chad, Niger, Cameron and A.U in this fight.

Over 20,000 solders, Airforce and Navy are in this fight . Hence, the massive offensive and bombardment..

For those asking why Government didn't buy weapons from Russia ever since;

Purchasing weapons isn't just like going to the market to buy Garri, if one seller doesn't sell, you simply move to the other.

There is a lot of bureaucracy involved. If purchasing weapons was so easy, Iran wouldn't have had it and still having it tough with the development of nuclear energy, which the UN and U.S. Believe is a secrete plot to developing weapons of mass destruction..

It is unfair to place the entire blame on president Jonathan.

When the 9/11 attack happened, all right-thinking nations developed their military, including South Africa and Chad to meet the challenges ahead and guard against any future terrorist attack. If the previous government started developing and upgrading the military, we would have enough intelligence to counter the terrorist, even before they escalated to this level.

Is it not a shame that the last time Nigeria got a Naval ship was in 1983? Only recently did President Jonathan acquire 8-Naval ships, four already commissioned and handed-over to their captains, while Nigeria awaits the remaining four.

It is important to note that President Jonathan's hands were literally tied on the issue. He was not willing to commit Genocide in the North East like OBJ did in Odi. OBJ may have escaped the ICC, GEJ may not, if he carried out aggressive offensive without the backing of the A.U.

The intervention of A.U and assistance from border nations was the game changer. Unfortunately, it happened 6-years into the Jonathan's administration.

The U.S. obviously decided to suffer the Nigeria government because it refused to approve Gay marriage. This, the U.S sees as a violation of human rights, and uses the BH insurgency as a means to retaliate.

Nigeria enjoys great ties with the U.S,.. going ahead with Russia who now provide military Intel to the Nigeria Army means that Nigeria would suffer further backlash from the U.S...

In essence, as a patriotic Nigerian, it is not the time to blame.. it is the time to consolidate on our recent gains in the fight against insurgency and give the government all the support it requires.

When the 9/11 happened, no single American blamed George Bush. Even the Opposition Democratic party became United for a common goal, and that was the WAR against terror. America has never been more United until the terror attack which sent shock-waves through the spine of all Americans. The 9/11 attack is one of the most accurately planned and devastating terror attack in the world.

four to six years ago, the cameroonians, chadians would not have allowed our troops to chase bh into their countries. It had taken a long time to get them on board. No one knows the arm twisting or money he paid these countries to get them on board, but he did it and he should be commended not vilified.

GEJ realised earlier than most people that the bh issue wasn't localised. My prayer is that Jonathan crushes this attack on Nigeria by vested interest.
With the capture of french members of bh, a lot of things become clear eg helicopters dropping weapons, usa speaking from both sides of its mouth and doing all in their power to bring to pass their prophesy of doom.

One thing am sure of is that BH are not from ijaw land or a member of catholic church. The war is not a conventional war whr a government uses weapons, drone, aircraft, APC, or bullet it's an ideological war and funded by ideology and belief and a societal problem which only the leaders, society, clerics, parent and guardian can solve it by letting those signing up for it know it's is wrong and against the wish of whom they worship.

If America government has been fighting Taliban since 70's and can't win it why putrting the problem on GEJ.

It's a sentimental conclusion and they use it for political gain.

No government in the world fight war ad still have time for infrastructural development like GEJ. He has tried we should all give him some kudos and encourage him by voting him again.

Do you think you understand the in and out of political issues going on? Average man knows what to do to the issue of insecurity in the country, but conditions around may stand as hindrance. "They may cry for CHANGE but never had the practical understanding of things happening. Lets not be blindfolded. i simply dont understand THE HATE. One min, we complained he wasnt doing anything. He is making efforts and yet, you still finding faults. He tried getting weapons, he is stealing the country's money. You seeing the weapons, he wants to tear the nation apart. He allows the rule of law, he is weak and undecisive. He makes executive orders, je is being manupilative. He is quiet and careful then observant, you say he is clueless, he makes a strategic move, he is too quick tu judge.

Yet we see a man making efforts and we slaughter him with criticism because we wnjoying dividends of democracy. We say stealing ad corruption is the same thing but when that apprentice embezzle from his master's shop that he was suppose to take care of. Well you are very right with some points there... but world powers don't buy arms, that is why they are called world powers viz: USA Russia China France UK and Germany produce everything they need... not even a bullet is imported so that no country can hold them to ransom by not selling arms like USA did to us
