Certain: so long as too many Imolites, including their governors, continue to believe that every important infrastructural development in Imo state must be in Owerri, and that discussions about Imo state must revolve only about Owerri, so long Imo state must continue to be least developed among the states created same time with it in 1976 - as it is now.

Neighbouring Anambra state created many many years after Imo state now has three evidently large and urbanized cities like 'Osha, Nnewi and Awka;

Akwa Ibom state prides itself with large modern cities like Uyo, Eket, Ikot-Ekpene etc;

but Imolites are always peeing on their trousers about Owerri, Owerri, and Owerri. With this attitude, Imolites drive all their governors into doing "showmnaship" development only in Owerri for four years - and even more.

Ordinarily what you wrote above does not deserve a response as it smacks of lies, ignorance, made up tales and attempt to distort facts.

In Igboland Aba, Enugu, Onitsha, Owerri are actual mid range cities and go by that order in terms of landmass. We all know the place of these areas under the Eastern regional government then East central and then to Anambra/Imo etc.

Orlu today has more government presence than Nnewi and even looks more urban even though both places are not fully urban but marely populated villages.

Like I have always written, Nnewi people are the wisest stock among Igbos in terms of investment. They did exactly what I want all Igbos to do. "Akuruo ulo". No government can take credit of Nnewi self-help. Orlu people in Imo State are equally doing great and I foresee a future pharmaceutical hub there. Not by government but by the people themselves just like their Nnewi brethren.

Whenever u are faced with important question u will start running from pillar to post.

Why not deal with issues in ur state without dragging other states and cities along.

Saying that orlu has more development than Nnewi is an insult to common sense. The only thing orlu can boast of is a run down state teaching hospital while Nnewi has a federal teaching hospital, mall, decent hospitality facilities, decent accommodations. we are not talking of economic activities and industrialization..

Stop being silly, millionnaireman is an imolite but he is a realistic person unlike u who would rather see white and call it black. Silly human being

Abagworo listen before you go to bring pictures of the three short two lane roads of Okorcha in Orlu as evidence of urbanization here:

a modern township stadium once existed in Orlu, built with close to a billion Naira. Okorocha partially damaged the stadium and allowed the remainder to be overgrown by weeds. Okorocha refused to build a new one in four years, but instead built two stadium-like Heroes and Freedom squares in Owerri which already has Dan Anyiam Stadium.

Okorocha demolished the vibrant state library in Owerri and built a new one there, while there is no other state library anywhere outside Owerri in Imo state. Okorocha seems to see state library as meant only for the state capital.

Other state governors realized that IMSU cannot remain in Owerri, hence they refused to build permanent structures there, what then drives Okorocha to build some permanent structures at IMSU campus in Owerri; Owerri which has other five tertiary institutions in every one square mile of the city?
How else does one not tell that Imo state is a one city state of Owerri, and is taken so by some of its leaders and people?

This scumbag definitely has not visited Orlu in ages. Who told you that Rochas has abandoned the stadium project?
There's an ongoing construction of Orlu township stadium at Okporo presently. At least I saw with it my eyes.

Pathetic liar!

What is there to compared, the most important thing is that, onitsha, nnewi and awka have existed before the creation of state thing..

Do yu call awka a city,it s the same with orlu and when yu talk of nnewi, that s my mother town, and it s not all nnewi that s city, bro, it s only nnewi north that s more urbanised than nnewi south, truth be told..

In regards to eket, uyo and ikot ekpene,i have been there and i ve stay there,
the governor of the state, godswil akpabio, only focus more development in uyo and little concerns in ikot ekpene, meanwhile eket is left abandon,
although, eket, uyo and ikot ekpene have been a city right from time,
orlu ,okigwe and owerri, are stil coming up..
There is nothing wrong if the governors decide to focus first on owerri before thinking on what to do with okigwe nd orlu,
which will certainly developed with time and pls stop the comparison cos each state with her own pace..

Concubine - like I have always called you here; you should not have gotten any response from me.

The so-called new stadium in Orlu you are talking about has been going on with bamboo and sticks by a few labourers in the last three years but cannot go beyond this level.

Whoever truly builds a sports stadium like this?

If I didn't see the stadium myself, probably I might have believed you but you are still an incorrigible liar. The stadium's seats have been constructed already. The problem I have with the construction is that the stadium seems small.

Yes Donatus Awka is a city and it is more decently developed than Owerre that has only brothels as its pride. Awka is the fastest developing city east of the niger.

Orlu is more or less like Ekwulobia.

Nnewi by all standards is far more developed than Orlu. Okigwe is a complete slum settlement.

Owerre is filled with old ikwerre-type-house settlements, there is no meaningful thing in that town.

You people should reason like millionnairman because he appears very realistic with genuine intentions for imo state to find its bearing.

Fact!but the good thing about Anambra is that we are not just trying to develop one area . i live in my home town which is inbetween awka and onitsha and less than 15 minutes drive, which my family prefers. my dad is a typical Igbo man that can never build on another man's land and cant imagine being a tenant at his age, that is why he was able to leave kano without regret after 37years unlike his neighbour from orlu who built heaven and earth there but not a hut in his home town. big shame! in my opinion, Igbos should start developing their hometowns afterall owerri, onitsha, awka are all someone's village.

berem,

go to February 13, 2015 on this thread. Abagworo posted picture of the same proposed new stadium in Orlu which you lie about its status.

In three-and-half years, building of Orlu stadium is yet to go beyond the level I showed above, as confirmed by Abagworo's most recent picture.

You confirm that the stadium is small - smaller than the ruined old stadium built by Udenwa govt; but it took Udenwa govt less than one-and-half years to build the now-ruined Orlu stadium with flood lights.

It took Rochas Okorocha govt less than a year to build stadium-like Heroes and Freedom Squares in the state capital.

Bikonu, more pics and less irrelevant arguments.

From the way most of you write, you don't live in Imo State. Anyways, Immediately Okorocha was sworn in 2011, he announced he would relocate IMSU to its permanent site. That statement attracted so much criticisms and abuses from Owerri people, so as a result, he gave in and changed that decision.

Btw, I need more pics...the ones I snapped I've already seen them here.
Thanks

So I should believe a picture Abagworo posted to what I saw with my eyes? Are you ok at all?
Did Abagworo snap the picture of the stadium himself or he got it from the internet? If he snapped it himself, when was the date?
Enough of the stadium discussion.
