I am a victim. You shouldn't praise yourself much but I am a very good student. It's been 5years since we finished so, maybe I should have said "was" Many of us studied hard not only to get good grades but to equip ourselves to be useful to corporate organizations after school. But Lasu has successfully killed that dream but not the drive. The Certificate is to certify and clarify that I attained a degree but it won't tell what I've got to offer. So I'm asking, is there any chance for us to at least get a job to earn a living from? Majority of us are well above 30years of age. It this a total lost cause? We need help. I will be the mod to help us so that Nigerians can see what we've suffered and help us. |

unofficial: Just incompetence on the part of the institution. They misplaced our whole 100level results and they are asking us to show proof for the results they pasted and we as students recorded in our result booklets. They are asking for the photocopies of those results they pasted in 2004/2005. How are we to get that? Are they saying we should have removed the results from the wall and over 800 student having a copy? They never posted any of our results online. It's just a sad situation. I'm begging my fellow Nairalanders, I need a job so badly but I don't have a result or certificate. I have proofs that I spent 5years in lasu, course forms, receipts, results I recorded, the invalid "To Whom" given to us by the HOD, the admission letter, etc. |

If you are sure that it is the schools'fault and not yours, then sue the school. The school must have been very ridiculous to tell you they don't have your 100 level results while they have the results of other sessions. And you really need to tell us the truth of the matter so we can we know how to help. Were you given a certificate of attendance because of your poor grades or what? 2 Likes |

Chukwutobi: Sir, lying doesn't solve any problem, even if it does, it won't last and it will surely be a disaster at last. I beg to affirm I don't have poor grades, I can't have poor grades. Despite all the lasu' problems with result, I'm still up there. Even with the results that I have with me (the ones pasted) I'm still on 2:1. I'm not sounding my gong but I was one of the best in class, the kind people come to for better explanation to courses. |

Maximus85: I don't think any firm will accept a certificate of attendance. it will be better you find a legal way of resolving the issue you have with the school. (This could even fetch you some money  ) |

Why am I finding this hard to believe? Lasu management blaming student for improper management of result? I graduated 1997 set,and result were online not pasted,how come your set were pasted? Please shed light to let us know how to go about it. Hope you aren't caught for exam malpractice? Why are you the only one involved here? Why is this not making news till you brought it,since your set is nearly 800? Why can your set sue Lasu? Why clamor for job,than finding solution to your problem? Yomieluv: Hmmmm. Exam malpractice? I'm too much for that bro. I tutor my fellow students back then. We created countless Facebook pages. Write numerous letters to the VC and gov Fashola. We didn't see any reply or action taken. I'm above 30, how many company employs people of my age with almost zero corporate experience? |

Maximus85: OP, the solution is not in what you have said. Getting a job is not what should be considered now. Since you are sure that it is the school's fault then go ahead and sue the school. you claim you are above 30, i guess you didn't participate in NYSC also and you don't also have a grade; all of these are enough to get cool cash from the school just tag it damage fee(or whatsoever you want to call it) and you can get enough money to start a business. |

@Op I think it will be better if u let us know whether u ran a full time program or a part-time program Because I graduated from the same Lasu last year and our certificates are already being issued out. So I think it's either the program u ran in Lasu was the the unreliable lasu part time program or probably there is more to this result issue if u truly did a full-time program. As regards whether jobs can be secured without certificate, I think the jobs u can get will definitely be unofficial jobs that dont require much certificate like marketing jobs, sales reps and the likes |

Onyiclara: I'm sorry but I've been in the forefront for the past 4years. My colleagues attitude is not as supportive as before, many got married, some with the means traveled abroad and many has given up. I don't have the power to get a lawyer. Are there lawyers that's got scary names that can help us for free? If there is, when I inform my colleagues, they will be revitalized. |

Maximus85:i suggest u work on getting a blue collar job at the monent e.g driving, PA e.t.c. Dere's a chance u'll get noticed as being quite literate and dat may push u to higher roles based on trust in ur abilities n competence. Dere are drivers and PAs (nt so educated) who earn 70k or more on d island. If u don't mind a driving job of 40k, u can send me a pm (assuming u have d requisites) |

@op, guess u did part time in one of those sham study centers. I did part time in lasu too, but had no such issue.....will advice u to follow up. Money i mean.  |

My roomate had extra year after graduation and wrote 23 courses as cary over.why not have one year extra and write those 100L courses |

FGN can be sued; so can any state be sued too. Address your case to the appropriate commission for help if it is genuine instead of dallying away your time here. There are many graduates with results scouting for job; who mughtn't be as good as you are but would be preferred to you by any employer. Though you might be competent but know it that your certificate is the first impression to an employer and an evidence of your competence. Do the needful by reporting your school to the appropriate ministry, thereafter sue them. It happened to a family friend some years ago, and she sued the school, won the case, got her certificate and some compensation too. |
