Bro those people are the head of different departments in the hospital who interview applicants depending on the department you applied in, and am sure what you are saying is not true of this hospital because am an insider here. There is no rule here that says you will be treated differently for being non-Catholic, so if any of these people tries it, he or she has to be queried.

In the Lab department alone, I know at least 9 non-Catholic staff. Infact during morning prayers, the muslims also lead prayers and recite their "fatia" prayers and everyone who knows it joins irrespective of your religion. There are non Catholics who are employed and also accommodated inside the hospital quarters. So I am yet to believe you are talking of thesame St Mary's I know too well who even use their charity drugs for both Catholic and non Catholics both for their internal patients and even patients from "Hospice"

I remember some year back I read an interview the veteran actor Pete Edochie granted to one of these magazines published by seminarian in seminary schools, (either Enugu or Onitsha dioceses) I can't remember precisely.


Prior to then, I've never heard or seen people pay tithe in any Catholic church.

In that interview, Pete Edochie was like encouraging Catholic Churches to start collecting tithe like our pentecostal counterparts instead of depending on "merger collections" to fund the church. I was surprised!

I went to Onitsha the next year (exactly in thesame church were I saw the magazine the previous year) to my surprise, they have started paying tithe!

Though they don't force people or threaten them with the so called devourer whatever, I wasn't happy about the development. Gradually today many priests are towing thesame path.

I still trust my Catholic brethren, they even give five or ten naira for tithe

Place of worship has nothing to do with preaching the truth. Most Nigerian churches for instance preach the tithe doctrine even though it is false and not applicable to christianity yet most people still attend these churches.

I am a christian and I am non denominational. The issue of winning you over does not arise, just follow christ and his teachings as stated in the gospel's without adding to or subtracting from it and you will just fine.
