There's no reason why an Architect can't give an open estimate using a range of price.

I disagree and this shows that Nigerian professional services are still behind the curve,

An appropriate professional answer should be "in our firm, we charge between X and X per square foot", just as an example.

There's no need for backdoor dealings, others like me who is actively searching and ready to hire an Architect can find the info useful.
