Battling without a beat is boring to me. It takes more skills to rap on a beat than acapella. Its more interesting abeg, you are the only one I've seen saying that.

rapping on beat is way easier bro..plus It doesn't allow for enough lyricism...

Acapella gives more room to say whatever you want when battling ..

It doesn't allow for enough lyricism? I don't think so. I can say whatever I feel like saying on a simple beat man so long as I end my rhyme at the 4th beat. Na you know wetin you dey yarn. You can pick out any of your text raps on FFR and do an acapella with it - but you can't do that if you want to rap it on a beat. You ll have to fine tune it so you don't fall out. In acapellas you only care about delivery and cadence but in audios you ll additionally have to count beats. Anyone who can rap on a beat can also do acapella but not everyone who can do acapella can rap on a beat. That's why its more difficult.

Plus light bars can easily get a reaction on beat but in acapella, you have to bring more than light bars to get a single reaction ..

Is tone projection not the same as cadence?

It is as easy as ABC. The most difficult things when it comes to spitting on the mic is counting beats and line compression. Its not flow or cadence. In spitting on the mic you have to make sure you count beats well so as to prevent fall outs - but in acapella you don't need to bother about this. Do you think counting beats is easy? Line compression/ measurement is also another difficult thing. That's not easy too.

When rapping on a beat you have to put all these into consideration.

1. Beat counting
2. Line compression
3. Melody/ rhythm
4. Cadence
5. Flow
6. Delivery and
7. Lyricism
