Stone Those That Want Change? Has Mama Peace Gone Too Far by Ifeann(op): 9:58am On Mar 10, 2015
Let me start by saying I admire the progress the GEj government has made in the last 6 years despite fierce opposition and distractions. I voted buhari in 2011 so it is fair to let u know that my post may be a little biased.

In 2011 I told anyone who cared to listen that PDP doesn't have what it takes to move the nation forward. A lot of alleged corruption was perpetuated under its leadership and this was enough for me to decide that they were unprogressive and didn't deserve my vote. Despite buhari's age and record of toppling a democracy I voted for him..

However Buhari is a man I have said I will not vote for again because of the post election violence and his delay in condemning the CPC supporters who murdered I NEC staffs and helpless youth Corp members. Of course he didn't ask them to do this. There is no evidence to suggest this.. Then I saw the article allegedly of him approving of the spread of sharia in Nigeria and then the story of him saying the baboon and monkey will be soaked in blood if the election is manipulated. So far I am yet to see video evidence for these stories attributed to him..

It got me thinking..should I trust this man. Should I vote GEJ based on his commendable achievements so far in agriculture, power, women empowerment , infrastructure development and subsidy cabal exposure. .all this is enough for any right thinking Nigerian to vote for him despite the alleged corruption perpetuated by the bad eggs under him.. there is little evidence to support this eg the 40 billion missing suddenly became 19 billion then suddenly became 1 billion ... truth be told told a lot of attack directed at GEJ is simply not true. However, the fight agaisnt poverty, unemployment, security, the value of the naira has suffered under his watch. It is important to note here that there is no such thing as a perfect government..

But then comes the reason for this topic...mama peace.

We all know her struggles with English but this is no reason to berate her because english is not the first language of many nigerians and a lot of people are ready to attest to her good nature. However after watching a few of her recent endeavors to solicit support for her husband I can't help but wonder .. is she doing damage to his political ambitions.. her personal attacks on the elder and respectable buhari has given me more reasons to think about her being the first lady of nigeria for another four years.

How can she call for the stoning of those who call for change and yet claim she wants to be known as mama peace .

The video evidence for this is freely available and clear.. Imagine if buhari said a similar thing and it was captured clearly on video...it would be all over the news. This is not Good for the Nigerian democracy.. I hope she apologizes to Nigerians for this statement. Perhaps it was a spur of the moment kind of thing..

From my post u can tell i hvent decided on who to vote for.. I would like to know how has the recent statement by mama peace influenced your voting decision.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

She has not only gone too far, but has also done enough damage to her status as Wife of the President. Enough is enough! Come March 28th, the Jonathans must be flagged a red card out of Aso Villa straight to Otueke.

The statement you called baboon and monkey will be soaked in blood was never made by Buhari.

All he said was "KARE JINI, BINI JINI" an Hausa idiomic expression denoting A FIERCE STRUGGLE or STIFF COMPETITION.

You cannot say someone who use the English idiom " killing two birds with a stone" mean killing 2 people with one bullet, it is silly, it is pure lack of understanding of people who translated it into what you are repeating.

Election in Nigeria has always been violent before, during and after voting. The duty of protecting lives and properties isn't the job of an.opposition party, it is the first duty of government to protect the lives and properties of its citizens.
buhari never called for violence nor did he encouraged it, Government failed in its duties and it is sheer lack of understanding to blame him when it is the duty of the police and the armed forces to restore order amd maintain peace, he indeed told his supporters they are not rioting for him. He contested in 2003, 2007 and 2011 and went through the courts to pursue his rejection of the results of all the polls legally.

The ICC will decide if what she said is worthy of hate N inciting speech against people. The wife of the former president of CIV just got 20years imprisonment today, her own judgement awaits her.

Vote whosoever you wish for but let your choice be driven by the truth not some media propaganda of lies and innuendos.

If Nigeria had been properly ruled in your opinion.in the last 5 or 6years then vote GEJ but if you think otherwise the choice of CHANGING THE STATUS QUO is yours to make.

Remain blessed.

What do you think can be worse than what Nigeria is going through at the moment?

From the economy to security to territorial integrity to food security to the hyper inflation to insincerity and lies at the state of the nation to decaying infracstruture to saying they are re-commissioning power plants yet no light to non payment of salaries to civil servants to a depleting foreign reserve.

I can go on and on about the multiple malaise bothering the nation. Re-election is a period of a running parties referendum if BUHARI/OSINBAJO gets there and don't perform to expectation they are booted out too. That's the beauty of democracy and the power of the electorates.

Wow... I don't know where u live in Nigeria but u seem to have so many of ur "facts" wrong.

1. I don't understand ur point about the economy...The nigerian economy is growing faster than most western and Asian countries. And is the biggest in Africa.

2. The security situation is far better than it was in 1999 when armed robbers ruled the night, the police is now far better equiped but the insurgence has greatly marred the overall security of nigerians especially the north eastern folks.

3. territorial integrity has been an absolute failure , u are very correct here. Even Chad and Niger governments have soldiers killing BH members in Nigeria.

4. food security has been a great success under GEJ, nigerian dependency on imports have greatly reduced. Again despite the insurgency in the N.E food prices have remained very stable. Its almost impossible to understand how the government managed to do this.

5. hyper inflationhuh? Nigerians inflation rate is quite stable...infact very stable for an oil based African economy... I know its been single digits throughout 2014. That's not hyper inflation.. Google Zimbabwe or even Venezuela to get an idea what hyper inflation is.

6 "insincerity and lies at the state of the nation"
Yes , u are partially correct. All politicians are liars. I tot u would say alleged corruption cover ups or the pardoning of a jailed thief or multimillion naira bullet proof car buyers and jet owners of alleged questionable means. Those issues are appalling.

6 "decaying infracstruture"... Actually infrastructure development has improved under Jonathan.

7." to saying they are re-commissioning power plants yet no light"... You are correct here.. Poweer situation is appalling, I have been told by people all over Nigeria.

8." to non payment of salaries to civil servants"... I haven't heard anything about this but u can be sure to expect this if the price of oil remains low.

9. "to a depleting foreign reserve." foreign reserves are often sold off to improve the value of a currency in the event of low oil prices such as we have now, for an oilcentric economy.. If the economy was better managed we won't have to sell off the F.R.. U are correct here..

Anyway, very soon nigerians will decide but we must be clear on the issues and not over hype or disparage the people involved
