Ikwokrikwo:I do watch it on Discovery World, A well trained Sniper would do a good job in that place. Just the rule "One for One." |

Ikwokrikwo:that machine gun would take out every living thing in that building. the lady filming did it out of ignorance. if the robbers had known someone was filming, they would have shot in her direction. you just can't engage daredevil robbers specially when they have the superior ammo. only a professional can handle that situation & his rifle must have an extension(silencer) |

I don't like that country. One nigeria is the first and the last problem of that country. A country with bad leaders. |

| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Ikwokrikwo: 12:45pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
coogar:The guys couldn't even handle the gun properly. It was like the gun was carrying them rather than the other way round. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by coogar: 12:48pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Ikwokrikwo:you are kidding, right! that's an M60 general purpose machine gun. the length of that belt means he has about 100 rounds. the maximum range of that gun is about 3km. it's the perfect killing machine. why would they take such ammo to a robbery operation if they aren't already used to it? they must have had enough practises with it. we should be thanking GOD the number of casualties didn't exceed what was reported. under no circumstance should that weapon be used within a city. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Ikwokrikwo: 12:53pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
coogar:Did they also practise shooting at an elevation to a target whose exact position they can't tell? You could see that they were struggling to even keep the gun at a normal level. A confident sniper in that building would have taken all 3 of them out if the rest didn't escape after the first shot. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by coogar: 12:58pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Ikwokrikwo:you don't even know the level of skill of these robbers? what if they were retired military officers? mercenaries? middle-east trained terrorists? i nor pity you! the gun weighs about 10kg. it's a difficult weapon to hold. most of the time, it's mounted on a tripod - no sniper would even try it cos he would know he's at a disadvantage. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Ikwokrikwo: 1:04pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
coogar:All those people you mentioned get killed all the time, even by amateurs. The 10kg gun wasn't mounted on a tripod which makes things more difficult for them. Finally, the sinper would have been at a very great advantage and not a disadvantge. They had 2 people filming them from different directions and they couldn't detect any, how would a sniper have been different? You could see in the video that the guys were all facing and walking in different directions, if you take the first one out, how on earth will the remaining 2 know where you shot from? Let us be realistic please. It is either the remaining 2 start running helter skelter or get killed by the sniper if they are foolish enough to stay. No 2 ways about that! |

coogar:Don't you think they would have had no chance if our police force was more proffesional? This can happen in the developed world too no doubt but i bet the robbers will be pursued with helicopters and technology. A well equipped swat team with snipers will take them out |

coogar:Exactly, the best was for her to place her camera and lay on the ground, she was even moving the camera up and down and the other opening the net of her window moving the camera to show the compound that video was shoot from put them in real danger, those niggas may decide to come for them God forbid. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by coogar: 1:09pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Ikwokrikwo:if they are well trained, they would know the direction of the bullet. that's the easiest bit. what would happen next is anyone's guess - they could panic and flee for their lives or go apeshit and smash every window in that vicinity. the range is 3km..... the gun's performance can go from sustained to rapid to cyclical - between 100 rounds/min to about 500 rounds/min. by now, lagos state would have declared a full month of national mourning. the sniper would have caused more harm than good to engage them. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Ikwokrikwo: 1:09pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Even the armed robbers will be shocked at how exposed they were, if they get to see these videos. Shun all the heavy weapons talk, they were really exposed. |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Ikwokrikwo: 1:12pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
coogar:I don't see how any one could so quickly tell the direction a shot came from no matter how well trained. They were facing different directions, they had their own sound of gun shots to distract them. At best they would need to take a look at the guy who was shot before they could know where the shot came from. Where is the time to do that? |

| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by coogar: 1:14pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Ikwokrikwo:in every robbery operation, big risks are taken by robbers. that is part of their profession. you cannot get any reward in this life without taking big risks. being exposed is nothing - it's not like anyone knew they were coming. robbers always rely on the element of surprise. breadandbutter:jonathan's visit to lagos caused the shortage of police. if we are honest, i am sure not even the heavy presence of police could have stopped these robbers. our police carry inferior firearms. they would have fled! Ikwokrikwo:even me wey dey play call of duty knows the direction of bullet. these guys are professionals - with a giant set of balls to attack a bank in broad day light in that part of lagos. they could be military boys! They were facing different directions, they had their own sound of gun shots to distract them.and that exactly is the point. entry wound/exit wound would point the direction the bullet came from. whatever happens next is anyone's guess. if they decide to do an eye for an eye, it's the grass(common people) that would bear the brunt. |

| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Nobody: 1:20pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
coogar:We are saying the same thing here bro. Even if 2 trucks of police were sent to the robbery scene i don't think they stand a chance against this robbers fire power. Our police are not trained to handle such situations. What they know is to harras and beat up innocent civilians. Most police men carry rusted Ak-47 wrapped with brown celotape. How can such weapons combat crime? Imagine this robbery happened in London or Newyork. I can bet the robbers perimeter would have been surrounded and many helicopters will be in the air. They will be caught unless they commit suicide |

Darkrebel666:i watch movies! breadandbutter:no police force in the world would have been able to deal with robbers carrying M60. it would take a bit of time to contain them. Imagine this robbery happened in London or Newyork. I can bet the robbers perimeter would have been surrounded and many helicopters will be in the air. They will be caught unless they commit suicidego and read about the infamous north hollywood bank robbery. LAPD was subdued by 2 robbers. just 2 of them held down a bank for 45 mins. police ran out of ammo, fled to a gun store to pack more ammo before the robbers could be stopped! the robbers were well armed, well protected by modified bulletproof gear & they went apeshït. they even shot at the helicopters covering the news. it's the scariest bank robbery i have heard of. |

Imanuelle:Last week, there was shootings in Yaba tech for more than 45 mins and the police arrived 30 minutes after the violence and the entire thing had died down and 5 studs had already been killed No one's surprised |

Ikwokrikwo:PKM machine guns would take out anything effectively from 1,000m. What I mean is even if civilian were to carry GUNS it probably will be pistols, and 1,000 meter, don't even go there. Plus of anybody shot at them from any position, other civilians will pay for his sins. Below is the PKM GUN. 13:23:48 Fri, Mar 13, 2015

| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by Ikwokrikwo: 1:28pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
coogar:I understand the eye for eye part, they could have gone mad and started shooting round the vinicity blindly which is dangerous, but a well trained sniper would still take them all out before they do much damage. As for knowing the direction the shot came from, the only 2 options I know of are sound and bullet wounds; their gun shots noise would have prevented them from hearing the sound properly and checking the entry/exit point of the wound wouldn't be possible in that situation. It will be suicide. The sniper would have had all the advantages: the sight, the elevation, the planning, the time.... Just name it |
| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by coogar: 1:31pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Ikwokrikwo:the element of surprise means there would be no sniper in place. what makes 99% of all robberies successful is the element of surprise. they strike when people least expect it and before police reacts, they are long gone. |

blackjack21:You guys are only looking at it from the weapon angle, what is the use of a sophiscated weapon if you don't even know your target or where he is? Like I said above a sniper would have had the advantage of sight, elevation, initiative, planning and time. Yes the guys could have gone mad and shot blindly but a confident sniper will take the rest of them out before they do much damage. I wouldn't mind one or 2 more people getting injured if it would have meant the death of these robbers. The fact that the guys are still out there alive is real danger. |

| Re: Video: Robbery In Lekki Phase 1 Estate Lagos by coogar: 1:39pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
Ikwokrikwo:do you really think the robbers would care about finding their target. everyone else apart from the members of the gang would become the primary targets. why do you think police negotiate with robbers in saner climes? it's to prevent the number of casualties. these robbers are often high on drugs before commencing an operation like this. they are tense & on the edge - they need the slightest excuse to pull that trigger. don't try it..... i am 100% sure the law would hold the sniper fully responsible if things go horribly wrong whereby the robbers start shooting at innocent people. it's a very delicate situation. you just cannot shoot at robbers holding a mass killing machine gun. |
