Gambling comes in various forms but the type of gambling i want to talk about is "SPORT BETTING"especially football.
I can remember few years ago.Whenever i watched football matches with my elder brothers and the camera shows some fans,holding their heads in disbelief because a goal has been scored against his or her team,my brothers would say
"nawa o,e be like say this one put e papa motor"
Or
"i sure say this man put im house for this game"

I always wondered why a goal scored against the team the fans supported could affect them so much,while the people playing the game,whom the goal was actually against may not be much disturbed.
Some of these fans,especially the male counterpart stays like someone who lost their wives because a goal has been scored against their team or because the game time is approaching 90minutes and their team is loosing or yet to score a goal.

It was later i understood what my brothers meant by their words.
Those football fans place a lot of money on the game,hoping to win more money when their predictions come true.

Now,i am going to give you reasons why gambling is not good for you.

1.YOU LOOSE MORE MONEY THAN YOU WIN:If we can tell ourselves the truth,we loose more money than we win on gambling.
I will be sincere;i do watch my friends write down the games they would play when they get to a bet shop and most of the predictions seemed so sure and i was always tempted to play the game too,hoping to win money.
At the end of the end,when i check scores with my phone,i would see that Real Madrid,PSG,or even Chelsea spoilt the game for me and it continued that way.
I have played it upto 5 times but not even 1kobo have i won from them.
Hmmm..so,biko whenever you see anybody win big money from sport betting,don't envy the person because you don't know the amount of money such a person wasted before finally winning.

2.IT BRINGS DEPRESSION
Gambling brings depression and as we all know,depression is a killer.
I have experienced it these few times i played it.The worst was the last game manchester city played against liverpool.I predicted Manchester city would win or draw the game but when i woke up from my afternoon sleep that day,the game was already over.
I asked those who watched the game "Man city don play finish?"

I expected them to tell me that they have devoured liverpool but to my surprise,they were defeated.
For the rest of that day,i was moody and depressed because of the money i lost.
And that is the case,when people remember the money they placed on the game,they would be like"If i know i for no play this.Which kind winch be dis?"
And if you are in such a situation and your little pretty sister or daughter come running towards you to play with you,you will shout at the little angel,not knowing the amount of blood you made her lose as a result of the shock she got from your unexpected shouting.

3.YOU MAY COMMIT SUICIDE:This one doesn't happen all the time though but i have seen and heard of cases where someone killed him/herself because he or she lost out on a bet.
Nawa o,maybe such a person placed something unimaginable.

4.BROKEN HOMES
Let me take this to the married men.
Some men branch straight to bet shops after work and spent more time there.
What baffles me most is the case of those husbands who cant afford two "triangle"meals for their wife and children sleeps in bet shops wasting their money and winning less.
They lose fine relationship with their wives and children.

5.THE WORD OF GOD IS AGAINST IT.
Let me not sound too religious but religiously speaking,the word of God does not support gambling.
Though the bible did not say "THOU SHALL NOT GAMBLE" . The Bible does warn us, however, to stay away from the love of money ( 1 Timothy 6:10; Hebrews 13:5). Scripture also encourages us to stay away from attempts to “get rich quick” ( Proverbs 13:11; 23:5; Ecclesiastes 5:10). Gambling most definitely is focused on the love of money and undeniably tempts people with the promise of quick and easy riches.


WITH THE boom in betting comes the corrupting consequences: deep indebtedness, despair, criminal behavior, and many other tragic repercussions that affect individuals, their families and society.

First, remember how addicting gambling is. Big habits generally begin with small steps.
Second, these are matters of personal conscience. There are differences of opinion among people of godly character. But i encourage you to think in terms of principle.
As a father,mother,elder brother or sister, what if you had a son or daughter or junior brother/sister watching you? Wouldn't your example make it more difficult to convince him or her of the evils of gambling?
With all decisions that we face, let's ask ourselves, "Am i doing the right thing?"

This never stopped him though; he continued and borrowed money from my husband and many others until he was so in debt he didn't know where to turn.
"In the end the debt consumed him and devastated his family and friends. At that point, the man could take no more and shot himself in the head to end it all. It was terribly sad. After his death my husband felt much guilt too. He wondered if he could have done more to help his friend. This is an example of typical collateral damage. Addictions and suicides lay a guilt trip and many other psychological burdens on the loved ones."

Don't think i still do the bet thing.I have stopped after wasting my hard earned money without winning anything.

Don't join too many games.
Use not more dan 5 games to accumulate
And don't be too greedy, wit time u will get something.
