Ok so what of the others judging her and calling her a b@$+@rd.i guess they've heard the other side of the story. If any man or woman can openly allow his or her mother be disgraced like this, you think others won't disrespect his mother and even him BECAUSE HE PERMITTED it. armadeo: |

nevilbot:whether she's still living in her father's house or under the bridge. The mere fact that she could protect her mom from abuse, disrespect and disgrace, she has earned my admiration and respect . Now I understand the yoruba elders that say that a mother who has children that cannot protect her is equivalent to a barren woman. So the yorubas that say omo lasho didn't lie (children are my covering) imagine the woman didnt give birth what will be her fate. From this thread alone I now believe children are a woman's security not men tufiaaaaaaaaaa |

SAMBARRY:i think she would have been more respected if she quietly moved her mum to her place and used silence on the old man. nobody would have insulted her instead they would praise her maturity. a adult posting an argument with the father on twitter in what universe does this make sense. |

This is the same lady who tweeted that she hacked nairaland and shut it down briefly. She claimed NL-ers were insulting this same father. |

SAMBARRY:It is still between both couple. If she were a fulfilled woman she wouldn't be living in her father's home, she would have a home for her mother to move into therefore she wouldn't have to hold her father hostage. Besides if I had a daughter like her, I will make her miserable till I breathe my last. I may agree that whatever is happening could be a serious family issue but does that also warrant the way she addresses non-family issues on her page? |

lastpage:Lastpage, how have you been? Hope you have been going great. Good to hear from you. Anyway, I strongly believe that what we practice in Nigeria is either the full blown British Common Law or a variation of it. If that's the case, the man's estate belongs to him and his wife, while he's alive. In the case of a divorce, the wife is entitled to half of his estate. If the man dies intestate, the spouse inherits everything. If he has a will, the wife gets 50%. The other fifty person goes according to his will. I am very much aware that that's not what we do in Nigeria. Just because we don't enforce our laws, don't mean that the laws are not there. It is the will to enforce most of our laws by the courts that are missing. We tend to go with the customary or sharia laws as the case may be. The truth is that every other type of law, is inferior to the law of the land, backed by the constitution. So that man can only sell his property legally with the consent of his wife. The problem is that she may not even know her right. She might erroneously walk away, believing that the man earned every bit of his wealth himself. That's far from the truth. In family law, the sacrifice of the woman at home while the man hustles, is considered as important as the man's hustle. She is seen as sacrificing herself for the family, in the same way the man is sacrificing himself to make money. Both are equal sacrifices before the law. We have chosen to treat women like second class part of the family, based on our cultural and religious biases. That doesn't make it right. I hope our women get what they truly and fairly deserve. No woman should be thrown out just because there's a fresh punana around the block. That man is wicked. |

SAMBARRY:U just won't get it. She's exposing him cos The gist would come out anyway buts she's in the good light . now the gist us out and see responses to her actions even if she were right. She didn't act matured simple. I am not holding brief for the father, i am very sure he has done something wrong but nobody cares because her reaction was immature. This is Africa no matter what we say elders are elders and you have to outsmart them in a mature argument |

So because the elders are elders any body should just be made homeless and humiliated. After using the best part of her years with him and investing in her kids. No wonder nigeria is the way it is . so you mean I can misbehave anyhow to you as long as I am older than you. Smh. I give up armadeo: |

GBTYO:My brother from the racist and most triblistic group in Nigeria. Well done. Anything that is against your tribe is bad. No actors/actress, no musician or footballer is good except from your tribe. Nothing is good about any politician except from your tribe. Other tribes with large family dynasty in Nigeria do have problems. We have the Okotiebor family tussles for years. The Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is still raging on |
