The food. I find it intriguing that most of our rich folks who adopt the lifestyle and food of Americans end up having stupid health conditions that never affected us at least not in the early 30s to 50s years old. You think you are doing well in your career, the next thing, you have a lump somewhere and they give you some months to live. Sounds so ridiculous. But the truth remains, someone earning $500 a month in Nigeria enjoys it more than someone earning same in US. The problem is, it is much more easier to earn the $500 in US than in Nigeria and that is the main reason people do migrate. If you have the source here, Naija is the best place to enjoy your money |

Glamrock:You wanna move? No issue. No one can decide for you, you know what's best. I frequent the states though don't stay for more than 3 months and all your resons are good especially racism which should have been number 1. Answer these questions what do u intend to do when you get back? Do u have a job? Have u secured accomodation in a good place, have you gotten a good school for your daughter? Am sure you must have crossed your t and dotted your I. Your decision is good.the good thing is. U have a blue passport.now, take a trip back and go round and see what is lacking here . There are simple affordable and neccessary items that we might not have, you could go into business with a shop that stocks such and since you have access to unlimited visits to states , would be easy for you to always jet out and scout for more stuffs If you intend to take a salary paying job, still be an entrepreneur I would recommend that your child should not do her university here.its up to you. |

IF THESE ARE YOUR REASONS FOR RELOCATING, PLEASE DO NOT BE IN A HURRY TO UNPACK WHEN YOU EVENTUALLY ARRIVE. |

Billyonaire:OP this is the reason why u can't come to nigeria. Folks can lie more than. Lucifer Even our president can't boast of 24/7 power supply in his house and we love it by the time u come to naija and someone accuse u of witchcraft u will find a reason to go back. ![]() |

You look very much like an Igbo lady. Nigeria is a challenging place where many wish to flee from. anyway I know this write up is just a joke on your part. |

traware:You only mentioned entertainers, but there are other returnees that aren't like those you've called out who couldn't make it after returning. Well, I guess if she's got a sustainable plan, she'll make it too. |

traware:I just don't like bullshitters, imagine me saying g I want to stop earning a salary and start living off gambling winnings? Who would leave the United States and come back here for these reasons? The OP should either tell us that he/she is wanted for murder or has committed a crime and is on the run |

phayvoursky:On a more serious note, am I the only one on this thread who hates the fact that every post, literally EVERY damn post has to have something about GEJ being the best thing since slice bread?! Your 'savior' is a no action president! Get a life and stop sucking his d**k. Terrorists are gradually taking over the country and he has not been able to contain them. How many people are unemployed? Has the cost of living gone down? Do you have electricity? Do you have clean water? Do you have good roads? So exactly what the f**k has he done that has gotten you wet? |

do not discourage her from coming home ..because she will always find peace among her people and also she will be able to learn a lot of different things about her people , cause I bet my chest " ..a stranger who especially hate your people , can not tell you a good story or history about them ..". the only thing is that greater struggles continue over here and if you are prepared and strong enough you will over come..so fear not .. you are always welcome home ...." cause home is where your heart will always be" ... when trouble comes |

eagleeyez:Thank you for this great contribution. Nigeria is full of mentally lazy young and even old people who think other people are the cause of their problems but on interacting with them for a few seconds you will see that their mental laxity is their biggest problem. @op Nigeria is a beautiful place to live in with lots of friendly and supportive people. A visit will not be a bad idea. Someone said you should be careful with how you do cash transactions with people, I agree with him. We hope to see pictures of your visit as soon as you decide. |

OtunbaJega:Very poor example if you ask me. Dija is an artiste, she will get money as long as she comes out with good music. An average human who has no talent or connection has to hustle |

vokalguy:Its hard to believe but true. 30KVA inverter/solar turnkey system +60KVA Generator+Public Power supply does it. Its determination my brother. I did not have to wait for government to create a paradise for me. |

Lovexme:I mentioned recognisable names because if I had mentioned Rotimi Adebola you and others would have no idea who he is.I've never seen any 'returnee' dying on the streets of Ngr.If you're ready to integrate into the system, you'll encounter no problem.I've met some Black Americans residing in Ngr and until they told me their true identities,I thought they were born and bred in Nigeria |

| Re: 10 Reasons Why I'm Leaving America And Moving To Nigeria by vokalguy(m): 2:12pm On Mar 15, 2015 |
Billyonaire:Bro! You are combining both public and private electricity supply. I bet you use your inverter/generator more than public electricity anyway. We are talking about electricity provided by the government, electricity that the average Nigerian can afford. Not everybody can afford a generator. |

Glamrock:You need to do the transition in a gradual way. Africa can be frustrating as well, infact it is very tough. That is why you see a lot of African trying to cross into Europe even at the risk of their lives. You need to study about Africa, I see that you like Calabar, you need to also have the right visa, the right qualification to have a job . I have a friend, whose's mun took that decision about 40 years ago, She is so happy for it now. She sees herself more as a Yoruba than an American now. Infact apart from her name and passport ( dual citizen) , she doesn't see herself as an American. You need to have a solid plan in place before taking that step and you have to be ready for the HUGE culture shock All the best |

Nice one. It's ok as long as you keep behind your mind the reality that every clime has its challenges. Don't come with any expectations and live one day at a time. Also it will help greatly if you have good source of income. There are no social security arrangements in Nigeria |
