Poverty is bad...it will make you always envy someone better than you .....the OP must be really frustrated with life itself seeing what his mates have acquired over a short time. Pray for your own OP. Its well with you.

This is the most uninteresting open letter I've ever read. What a badly written piece. It could have made a good read, judging by the title, but it is just too all over the place. The title is the only thing I agree with.

From your title, I thought you were against them flaunting their wealth, but you ended up being against getting the good things that they can afford.

..And that 250n watch BS up there , babe please undecided. There is a reason those watches (and other goods) have different prices based on one's pocket. If I can afford to buy a 15000 watch, I wouldn't settle for a 250n one, just because you will feel offended. Go for what you can afford. Its as simple as that.

In the words of Airforce1... "Broke people always think they have an opinion". OP broh... Get a life. How they make their money and how they spend it is none of anybody's business. I used to think like you... But the first day I made my first 200 grand, I felt on top of the world... Thats even way back. You may not understand till you get an alert of 1 million dollars... Then let me see you flaunting a watch of 250 naira.. Then I will be certain Jesus is back! Whats the use of making money when you can't spend it? Why is it that you guys arguement always bother on helping the poor? Are you not aware that even nature abhors equality? All we can ever pray for is that the poor get rich someday. If your argurment bothered on the need to be humble while rich, then I would have understood.. But all your talk bothered on living the life of a miser when you can live big... God made them big broh.. Staying in a keke in traffic on a sunny hot day for five minutes and staying in a lamborghini aventador/Diablo on a hot sunny day for five minutes are they the same thing? OP broh.. wish for good things in life oo... But not at the expense of your soul!

I congratulate you all for working hard in life and
making a name for yourselves, it isn't easy but there
are certain things that ought to be corrected. I'm in
no way saying that you shouldn't spend your money
how you deem fit, but you have to look at this issue.
The issue is that most of you flaunt their wealth all
over the social media, especially that boy Wizkid.
There are ways you spend your money and i wonder
whether you guys are really sensible. Please Answer
This Few Questions

How would you buy a watch of $20,000 when a
watch of N250 would serve the same purpose?

You Recently Bought A Car Of N24.8m, When A Car
Of N1.5m would still transport you to anywhere you
want.

How Would A Sensible Person Buy A Suit Or Dress
Of N300,000 when a N5000 Suit Made By A Tailor
Would Serve The Same Purpose.

Tonto Dike or whatever ;You Bought An Iphone6,
"You No Go Let Us Hear Word"

How Confused you Are?

What Would It Have Cost You If You Gave That

When You Die Who Would Wear That Suit, Who
Would Wear That Watch, Who would ride those cars..
Who would use that expensive perfume and phone.

The media flaunts the white man's wealth, the blacks flaunts their wealth to the media. The blacks has got no brains, when the white says it, they say they discriminate. Only few blacks know what is right from wrong, but be as it may, black will forever be black. The media in our country are not concerned with their wealth, except people like Linda Ikeji etc, who prefers to talk about the number of cars they buy, why because she is also black. Bella won't go on her platform and say Linda bought a 4 million naira wrist watch, and so since no one will do it for her, she has to do it herself. Why because she is black. Why because the media won't take it up, she prefers to do it herself. No matter the advice you give to these black people, they won't listen. So, remain black when you are wealthy, or act white when you are wealthy, the choice is yours.

Not every one in life will like you, like wise wizkid. As you are hating him people are worshiping him. Mind you am not crazy about any nigerian artist. I believe the OP is just look for attention. Its reminds me of a proverb I once heard, iT says, when you are poor, no one will tell you how to make money, but as soon as you become rich, people will start advising you on how to spend your money.

At oP, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. And shame on the moderator who brought this to FP when there are better topics out there.

I'll say a rhianna or a michael jaskson flaunting their wealth in a prosperous country like d USA makes sense....but when u hear of a nigerian artist/pastor/politiician's kid spending and wasting money it just seems morally wrong, when +61% of the citizens of the country they come from live on less dan a dollar a day.I think the envy is understandable.

Good write up but you left a few salient points.
1. When they seize you - you know them, dont expect them to accept a ransom 100 million. It will be in billions. If they can get you, your parents are easy.
2. The tax man is your friend.
3. Wise whales dont blow when they are at the top because they know they may get harpooned.
4. Lastly, when you buy suits costing hundreds of thousands of Naira, we begin to see you as those whose future lie in their wardrobes. They want nothing but validation since empty barrels must make the most noise by their nature.
