I have had a look at your profile....and you are an APC suppoter.

The reason why many Nigerians...and it isn't just the rich......even the middle and lower classes are sending the kids out of the country to study...is because Nigerian education has a serious funding issue....as well as a lack of enough qualifed teachers, especially in the University level.

As a result.....the rich vote with their feet...as do many of the other classes....while the rest of us suffer with poor degrees.

There is a solution......either we increase fees for everyone in govt owned primary , secondary and tertiary schools...or we redirect the entire education ministry's budget to primary and secondary and technical school education (and remove the fuel subsidy and use part of the money to fund the education budget)....and then make universities public-private....which means higher fees....but at the same time...enough money for faculties, facilites and lecturers. Poor university students can apply for need based loans/grants....with generous repayment conditions.

I hate the idea....but it is better than grousing about the rich sending their kids abroad.
