Ahmadu Bello clearly said,"I will dip the Quran in the Atlantic ocean".
This literally means he is poise at Islamizing between the north and down the southernmost part of Nigeria.

That man introduced Religious Bigotry and tribalism to Nigerian politics!

Was that his personal property or government property? If it belonged to the government of the North, what then is all this noise about.

So Sir Ahmadu Bello was a thief eh? Firstly, this was not his personal house. Secondly, his lineage gives him access to wealth. He was from a royal family that can be traced to Uthman Dan Fodio. Thirdly, if Sir Ahmadu Bello was killed for corruption, how did Nnamdi Azikiwe escape the same fate?

They can't even get the name right. First, one said Ademulegun. Second, another said Adekunle. grin

FYI, Ademulegun (and his pregnant wife) were one of the casualties of the coup. Of course we all know you are trying to say Ademoyega; the only non-Igbo member of the coup who of course wouldn't have been wooed if not for the fact that he was the foremost (or only) Nigerian Army Officer with Operations and Signals training.

U r just one of the million illitrates and uninformed persons in this part of the globe.
Why will u mention the Ibo's here, when u dnt knw theirs story, their issuess?
This was same man,an assumed patriot who openly in an interview spilled his hatred for the Ibo's.
He said they r too creative that given little space they take over the entire place.
That when ever an apointment comes on he will first consider a nothernern,an expertriate,a northernern again before an Ibo man.
That's derogatry.
Is it our problem that their pple r zombies?
See his mansion in '66 maybe now he would v built an empire yet a teacher.
They should leave our oil alone.
Our almagamation is our greatest undoing!

Azikiwe escaped because he knew about the coup. Ifeajuna who masterminded the coup was Azikiwe's cousin!

While the Sardauna and others were being killed, Azikiwe was enjoying himself in the West Indies with "papa doc" of Haiti.

Azikiwe was no clairvoyant. He was told to run!

So, there you have it! The chronicle above was how he escaped and dodged the bullet.

Nigeria has never been the same since then.
