I can understand. Well, there's a planned implementation of the long touted 35% levy for the April 30th, but has been postponed since, till June 30th of this year.

What actually affected duty in the last two weeks is the exchange rate. We used to assess duty @ 155 per dollar, rose to 168 and then 198 last two. The implication is that it raises the CIF of vehicle and thus high duty.

As for the thread, the corrolla value is reasonablly low, and the difference should not be that high, both the agent and the person involved should settle it out. The much impact of the new development is on high cost vehicles, it affect all though.

What the heck (sick)! How long should it take to transfer from TICT to Kirikiri, operational lapse, congestion, or low capacity? A container of a week old @ port and you can't book for examination, yet they are expecting you to tip them for what they should normally do; if not, unnecessary delay. This nonsense needs to be fixed.
