Auroras by johnydon22(op): 9:44pm On Mar 21, 2015*

Auroras are natural light display in the sky (from the Latin word
aurora , "sunrise" or the Roman goddess of dawn ), They are two types of auroras.

1. Aurora borealis (Northern lights) that occurs near or at the north pole of the planet

2. Aurora Australis (Southern lights) occurs near or at the south pole.

It is no doubt that this is one of the wonders of the natural world..
Bright colourful dancing colours in the sky, a pity it's probably will never happen in Africa or nigeria..

Auroras are caused by the interaction of earth's magnetic field with particles
from the sun. . . the earth magnetic fields are strongest at the north and south poles, and africa is neither near any of them. We are near the equator, aurora occuring in africa or Nigeria is almost impossible.. thats why we never get to see them here while they happen many times in artantica, australia, even canada and many other places near the poles.

Hiswordxray please i understand your strong emotional ties to your belief, but please this is sceince section, we need science inclined comments and discussion. Lets keep the goddy thing in religion section only and not bring it to science.

omg, it's my dream was to see it with my eyes. And thank god last I have made my dream true. I found the best polar cruise operator [color=#000000]Poseidon expeditions[/color] and we went there in august. Which is the best time to see the northern lights. I knew that they are beautiful, but images and photos can not transfer how magical are they in real life.
