The Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Davies Ikanya has concluded plans to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Information just reaching us from one of the chairman’s aides has it that his boss, Chief Davies Ikanya, Rivers APC Chairman held a meeting with top PDP leaders to discuss his defection.

Chief Ikanya was quoted to have said that he should be given sometime to enable him sought out some logistics that would ensure the release of some funds promised him by the Governor.

He however promised to mobilize support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.

When contacted, one of his Special Assistants, Mr. James K. Iyok confirmed the meeting with the leadership of the PDP and the assurance of Chief Davis Ikanya to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan wins the presidential election.

Cumulative budgets of OBJ and GEJ.
- OBJ: 1999-2007, total budget N9.21tn for 8 yrs in office.
- GEJ: 2010-2014, total budget N23.45tn for 4 yrs in office.
Effectively GEJ has spent in 5 years a sum that's about 2.5 times what OBJ spent in 8 yrs.
OBJ regime grew our external reserves by a staggering 930% from $5bn to $45bn in 1999, paid up a $12bn external debt, grew the economy from below 3% to over 7%, agric sector also grew by same margin to a record high of 7.4% by the end of 2006, reduced unemployment to a record low of about 6% by 2006, domestic debt to about N2tn by 2007, still left $22bn in the excess crude account and actually improved the exchange rate from 133 to 117 Naira to the Dollar until the global financial recession of 2008/2009.
GEJ regime has not added a dime to the external reserves despite earning far higher revenue than any Nigerian president in history but has actually depleted the reserves, escalated external debt, economy still below 7%, agric sector growth dropped to 5% (forget the hype about eliminating corruption in fertilizer distribution), grew unemployment to over 23% (record), poverty incidence to 71% (another record), grew domestic debt to N7.65tn from N4.5tn in 2010, has depleted excess crude account and we now have the worst exchange rate in the history of this country.
Remember all of these happened in an era of unprecedented boom!!!

that is another point I showed some ppl but their blinded folly devotion to tinubu won't make them see the facts of things. Apc took the south west voters for granted and believed they could always bring tinubu and his magic juju broom and win . They stopped wooing the local heads of families and communities and they assumed that once they dominate the online propaganda machine ,every other segement of the society will be forced to follow. This is where gej and pdp played a smart and intelligent political move ,by meeting all these magajis,baales ,opc ,obas,market leaders and by giving them a reason to vote for him . Apc never gave south west voters any sensible reason for ppl to vote for buhari except that he is a member of apc . Gej met with every single party in the south west , little by little they all have given him their support ,this is the support which should have been apc own if they hadn't been arrogantly foolish . Lagos - All Progressives Congress Chairman in the Rivers State, Davies Ikanya, dismissed reports he had defected to the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). Ikanya denounced this as a “ridiculous rumour.”
“That will never happen. Whoever started or is spreading that lie should be treated for acute malaria,” he said. He disclosed that the rumour came to his attention while he was chairing a recent meeting of APC stakeholders with Governor Rotimi Amaechi in the Government House in Port Harcourt.
“Let me state emphatically that should everybody decide to dump APC today, I, Dr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, will be the last person
to dump the party because I am a man of principles. You can be rest assured of this,”he emphasised.He dismissed the reports as the handiwork of the PDP. kanya alleged last Monday, Felix Obuah, the PDP State Chairman,while receiving the defected Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru, boasted that about six commissioners in Amaechi’s cabinet would be joining them by Wednesday.
