The Electoral Officer who was attached to Ibbi to conduct the Saturday presidential and National Assembly elections was manhandled by angry youths in Ibbi for allegedly collecting 20 million naira bribe from a politician in Ibbi to change the result of the state house of representative elections within the area. The elections in Nwonyo II ward of Ibbi local government area was suspended by INEC as a result of the crisis that broke out between youths of the area and the Electoral Officer in the local government on Saturday. He however explained that affected Electoral Officer has been replaced by a Head of Department of the commission to conduct the elections. “Yes the Electoral Officer in Ibbi was allegedly arrested over collection of money from a politician and he is under police custody.
