What Problems Should The New President Give More Attention? by Nyceguy92(op): 12:55am On Apr 01, 2015
Now that the elections are over, I am sure everybody has in mind the problem areas they would like the new administration to give more attention.

Our problems are many; one can only just mention those that have been there for ages and become embarrassing.

First, I would like the president to tackle the chronic problem of very poor power supply. Industries and other activities depend on it. The technology is no secret.
It is there for the asking.

Second, I don't know if I should place water supply above roads but we do need good roads and regular water supply.

Third, the syndrome of abandoned projects has to stop. It wastes our money. This actually comes under corruption.

Fourth, our national pride , now defunct, the Nigeria Airways has to come alive again. Nigerians are among the most travelled people.
To think we do not have our own airline is embarrassing.

On a last note, it would be worthwhile if the administration would set up an online forum - you can call it "The People's Forum" - where it would gauge
the opinions of Nigerians on a wide range of issues.

What do you think, my people?

1. Corruption, because I believe it is at the roots of most of our problems as a nation.

2. BH insurgency, simply because it is one of primary responsibilities of any government to do its best to protect the lives and properties of all its citizens.

3. Power supply, because I believe if this intractable problem, which shames our country, is tackled with the seriousness and commitment it needs, and the power sector is drastically improved at the levels of generation, transformation and distribution, the economy would be greatly boosted.

4. Youth unemployment, because the current situation whereby millions of our country's youths in all the regions are unemployed, is an unhealthy development with serious adverse economic and social consequences.

5. Education, because I feel deeply ashamed to see how our young men and women travel to all manners of developing countries in search of university education, including to those countries who used to envy our great citadels of learning (Great Ife, Ibadan, Nsukka, Abu and Unilag) in our years of glory as a nation.

6. Disunity among the peoples, because wittingly or wittingly, the outgoing government has regrettably deepened, heightened, accentuated and even over-emphasized our ethnic, religious and regional differences so selfish political gains.

Thanks for the info.

However, lack of [regular ]water supply is a huge problem regardless of under whose jurisdiction it has fallen.
