Jarus:
In the First Republic, Igbo (Zik, NCNC) and the North (Sardauna/Balewa, NPC) formed alliance that was too much for the West (Awolowo, AG), and AG, not having enough seats in the parliament to produce Awo as Prime Minister, Awo could only become opposition leader, while the team with majority (NPC and NNPC) produced President (Zik, NCNC) and Prime Minister (Balewa, NPC).

In the second republic, NPN was dominated by Northerners and Igbos, and they produced president (Shagari) and VP (Ekwueme).

Igbos and the North in civilian dispensations have always been friends, while Yoruba traditionally played opposition.

This is the first time Yoruba is involved in mainstream. You can hardly achieve mainstream by not forging alliance. The current generation of Igbos do not appear to get this, and the SW outsmarted them.

Hence d North must always be involved while the rest play "mini-mini-mani-mo"?

I really envy the Northerners. E be like sey na dem get Nigeria.

It is not a matter of mini.

They are only smarter in politics, and are the usual beautiful bride. There is nothing that says the Igbos and Yorubas cannot form alliance.

When Asari and his militants brought Nigeri's economy to its kness under Obasanjo, the didn't need any help from Igbos to do that.

The population is more than the resources that are available ,Niger delta is just 5 to 8 million people ,with a huge resources that can bring GDP per capita to more than 25,000 dollars for each citizen if i can steal the oil and do bunkering and also collect contracts and also have government contacts .I will change that place to Dubia in 5 years

Ok let us just say, we don't subscribe to Asari using us a shrapnel shield in his beef with the rest of Nigeria but we sympathise and empathise with the SS.We also want to tell them that they are not alone in this injustice and they will always find a willing -albeit passive- sport in us at whatever venture they kick off..but we won't subscribe to this dangerous open call to use and dump we. A few blown up oil rigs should suffice enough, innit?

Why sympathise? Should the whole country watch while cluelessness rules the day?

In other threads, I told Igbos not to allow Asari Dokubo to use them to fight his war against the Northerners and Westerners, some attacked me verbally but thank God that one of their own know what Asari is planning to do.

He took all his investment to Benin so as to keep them safe in case of a war. Eventually, Igbo investments all over the country ll be the collateral damage in a war just like the way Ijaw has used Igbo political dividends as a collateral damage in the last election. I thought Igbos are smart ooo; you guys are very smart but you have turned out vulnerable as a result of your hatred towards the Northerners and probably the Westerners and Ijaws are taking advantage of your vulnerability.

Many have been labeling President
Jonathan a hero or a statesman becos he
called to congratulate the President-elect
GMB or becos he conceded the result so
quickly. But wait. Does he really have any
choice in the matter? I DONT THINK SO.
It's like giving Obasanjo some credit for
handing over to Yaraduah after trying
frantically to secure a 3rd term in which
he failed woefully!
Can we also call him a hero because he
allowed 'free and fair' election? Of course
not! Because some things are rarity in
our clime, whomever does it, should now
be classified as a hero? Why do we regard
ourselves so miserably? Why do we easily
get satisfied with crumbs from the table?
To me Jonathan is no hero nor is he an
elder statesman. He is just somebody
who had to do what he had to do to
survive. He simply saves his neck. Can he
in all honesty start any mayhem and
survive Lessons of Gbagbo and Qaddafi
are apparent to whomever wish to learn.
In fact, I dont even think he has the liver.
Now, on the road to the election,
everybody could easily observe that he
doesnt want to leave. The following steps
were very apparent:-
1. Did he toy with the idea of Interim
National Government that he had to
abandon when there wasnt any taker?
2. Did he toy with the idea of army take
over of govt so the govt would not go to
Buhari?
3. Did he toy with idea of sacking Jega to
appoint somebody (Prof. Mimiko?) that
would be more amenable to make the
elections favorable to him?
3. Did he go on a spending spree in the
South West, spending our national wealth
to all the so called influential Obas and
every Tom, Dick and Harry (including the
OPC leaders) in southwest that he
believed could sway their people to vote
for him?
4. Did he bribe our clergies for them to
persuade their flocks to vote for him,
thereby dividing the country into religious
camps?
5. Was he not aware of the Show of
power by various militia groups,
especially in Lagos, with the active
connivance of the armed forces and
police.
6. Was he not aware of his goons (Okupe,
FFK etc) were running up and down saying
Buhari is unelectable, that he can never
be Nigerian President. Well, who are
eating their vomits now?
If all the above are in the affirmative,
then in what way is President Jonathan a
hero or statesman
What of the maltreatment of the
opposition by the patently partisan DSS,
whose spokeperson was more or less the
megaphone of PDP?
No! GEJ is no hero. Neither is he
statesman
