No, Economy is in a mess because foreign reserves were depleted when oil prices were record high. The government did not save. When the prices fell, they had nothing to cushion the effect.

In OBJ time, oil prices fell as low aa $38 but it was managed properly. It is higher than that now and things fall apart.
