How many line set-up do you think would be perfect for a live acapella rap battle? and wouldn't bore the audience.
Two line set-up, three line set-up or four?
Remember that it is a Nigerian crowd, and most of them are not used to Kotd,Url, smack or the new ways of rap battling. I've been trying to balance it but i'm having some little difficulties in doing that. My brawl in three weeks time and I'm thinking of rewriting my 2nd round, but lemme hear from y'all first.

you can do any number of lines, bro.
don't make it too intricate. that shytë doesn't work in live battles. do loads of jokes and simple schemes. the majority of any live audience are too slow to catch up with the volley of punchlines or intricate schemes you spew out. remember, they don't get a second look like a football referee. this isn't textceeing o so keep it ridiculously simple.

do a lot of references the crowd can relate with. if it's happening in UNILAG, all your references should be from there or at worst, lagos state. the more cheers you get, the more demoralised you would leave your opponent. he might even choke when it comes to his turn to rap.

I have done the auditions where we did freestyle brawls, but this one is the main brawl.
About 3 battles that day. 2 mins, 3 rounds esch
The dude I'm brawling is even coming from Delta (Venomous).. so its not a petty brawl or a child's play
We are even getting paid that day, though its a small amount but Vato said its just for starters.

~ On the Audition day, I noticed the Joke bars got cheers more, so I'm taking your advise on that.
I think I would use one line set up then punchline like Idivine suggested. I would write my second round in that manner

even in big URL crowds, jokes trounces bars. bars are just 30% of the ish. performance is 30%, jokes is 40%. enough intricate "yo momma" jokes and you would control the room.

Nigerians are funny;they also love hearing jokes. So if there's any way you can make your lines kinda funny(but don't overdo it) and still maintain that hip hop touch, I guaranteed you ll get their support and the cheers.

Lines like the one you ate teddy like tuwon shinkafa
The one you put someone's @ss in his stomach and called it Omawumi bottom belle. Those kinda lines,I believe, the audience will love.

Like coogar said, use references they can easily relate with. Use it in this order of preference; 1... Unilag 2.. Lagos in General 3.. Nigeria as a whole 4.. Everything in General

I also forgot to mention; if you have ill lines concerning the just concluded election, don't hesitate to use them, the crowd will go crazy.
