Jonathan released the money for card readers to Jega. Infact Jonathan ensured that INEC never lacked financially despite the dwindling oil revenue. If Jonathan wanted to sabotage the purchase of the card readers he would have denied Jega funds.

Let's accept the fact. Jonathan would've rigged the election to his favour if he wanted to. He could have also used the insurgency in the North East as an excuse to extend his stay in office in multiples of 6 months as enshrined in the constitution. But he didn't because he's a true democrat and a patriot.
