ozodigboo: Id!ot, I was referring to the 1953 event and not a civil war your cowardly Ojukwu initiated, lost and left your Fathers and mothers dead, raped and famished, while he escaped in the middle of the Night to Abidjan. As per Igbos wiping Lagos off the map, na you get your fingers na, you fit use am type anything. But I know you sincerely don't pray for a war between Igbos and Yorubas in Lagos. The Igbos have a lot to lose if it happens, as there would be reprisal attacks on them in the other south western states. The very few Yorubas in South east would be sacrificed. I wonder why a rational Yoruba would relocate to the South east, by the way. 6 Likes |

So Igbos are known for butchering Hausas in the east? Thanks for the history lesson. Now compare the number of Igbos in the west/north versus Yorubas in the east. Violence is not our answer. Politics is. Texcoco: |

Imanuelle: The influx of igbos into lagos is as a result of want ,need and poverty in Igbo land after the war ,Before the igbos came to Lagos we had the industrial estates and almost 90% of manufacturers were Yoruba,s. Awolowo developed the Industrial estates in ikeja industrial estates, ilupeju estate ,isolo industrial estates. But it changed due the economic recession and de industrialization and unitary federalism. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Abeyjide:firstly igbos are not slaves and can't live like one, like the way yorubas are to hausas, secondly igbos didn't develop any state in the North like they developed lagos, and igbo developed Lagos because of it's nearness to the sea after Nigerian govt closed calabar and rivers shore because of envy, and let me tell you this, no other traditional ruler will stoop so low like the scumbag you call baale of Lagos, because Yoruba don't have oba only bini kingdom have oba. |

adorable29:Take tribalism away from this matter, igbo are not as accommodating as yoruba and hausa. I am a youruba , I was in igbo land for about 3 years in the eartly 90s and they hardly sell their land to other tribes. We know that igbos are jew in Nigeria, there is community in Kano called No MAN's LAND ; igbo dominated and igbo cancellors allowed but when they aspired for Chairmanship post the Hausa told them story. Yoruba's hand of friendship is taking for granted, don't ever think that we are caword for not doing to you what Hausa/fulani did to you in Kano. Federal seat has moved to Abuja go there and claim what you want to or go back home and stop building other people tent. We love you to stay in Lagos if you will respect our culture and traditions. I don't understand this sudden yoruba paranoia about the ibos in Lagos. It is so misplaced and downright infantile. So, no ibo person in Lagos has a right to vote again? When did voting your choice candidate mean taking or trying to take your host's land? Ibos have long been in Lagos and they've contributed to the economy of Lagos. They're not waging any communal wars or fights in any region in Lagos over land ownership or the like; and so, nobody is after any yoruba land. Ibos are only after their own progress. And, in this election, all they're saying is, LET THEIR VOTES GO TO THEIR CHOICE CANDIDATE. IBOS NO WANT YORUBA AND THEIR ORORO LAND. |

They said Lagos is for Lagosians........ But Niger Delta crude oil is for EVERYBODY. Many areas in Lagos existing now, is because igbos bought sand, refilled the swamps and started living there. The Yoruba landlords who sold those lands have finished spending the money, and have suddenly remembered that Igbos are strangers and should leave. BuT, know what ? We aren't leaving. Deal with it. 3rd mainland bridge, eko bridge, carter bridgre, national theatre, all those landmarks were built in the 50's and 60's with crude oil from SS, and palm oil from SE. |

Imanuelle:yes it would be better , cleaner and more prosperous. The new dangote refinery will contribute and pay more taxes to Lagos than all the Igbo businesses combine. Do you think Lagos is rich because of Igbo selling gala , okirika and riding Okazaki ? Hell no , it's rich because of meaning full foreign investment. Less Igbo means less kidnappers, less Igbo means better hospital services if I need one and the list goes on..... 3 Likes |

chowlade: when your grandfather moved to this present parcel of land called lagos, he was a strange, right? he didnt manufacture the land , did he ? The recent strangers after while will also, like yourself, lay claims to this land with same argument you used. I am a Native of lagos state, born and breed, all my generations as far as i can remember have only know Lagos as home. But i am IGBO !. |

What Ibos don't know in their myopic thinking and i quote Okorocha on that is that: The devil you know:APC is better than the one you don't know: PDP It's been a long while ibos and yorubas have had a peaceful co existence...working, schooling, commuting, worshipping and inter marrying. Peace... Now, PDP are manipulating your ego for cheap votes...You act like the candidate is Ibo. You don't see the vendetta that exists between Agbaje and Tinubu who fell apart years ago. Irrespective the outcome, a yoruba man will be governor But if the guber polls are anything like the presidential PDP s.e watershed votes based mainly on sentiments...Yorubas will feel back stabbed that you are meddling with the good thing they have going for them. PDP has lost out and is fighting for relevance, using all tools at their arsenal...This is not an ethnic battle, but you guys think APC is the one taunting you...You fail to see the reverse psychology you are being used in playing this Game of Thrones...anyway....that's what happened with the senate president seat...make una wise up and wise up 3 Likes |
